Child's Play with Creative Card Crew and The Stamping Boutique

The Stamping Boutique is sponsoring this week's challenge over at the Creative Card Crew, so I decided to play along.  The Challenge theme is 'Child's Play', anything that reminds you of a child at play, toys etc.  This made me think of 'Recess' or 'Playtime' as we used to call it, and children playing games in the playground.  With this in mind I chose the Audrey's Playground Hopscotch image, along with the School House image.  I decided to use Echo Park's Playground Collection of papers for my card, taking the colours from these papers as the colours for my images.  Images are coloured with Letraset Promarkers.

Hope your inspired to get into with your inner child and play along with the challenge.
Have a great day

Multi-fold Magical Monday

This week's Magical Monday Challenge is to try your hand at a Multi-Fold Card.  There are lots of different multi-folds out there, and Splitcoaststampers.com is a great place to find step by step tutorials.

For my card I created a Triangle Tri-fold Card, which was a lot easier than I thought it might be.

I used the very pretty Flower Cupcake with Butterfly, as my image, and printed it out quite small, as the front panel for this card is only 2 square inches.

I used card stock from The Papeterie, along with some orange vellum from my stash which i embossed with an embossing folder. My image is coloured with Verithin Prismacolour pencils.  To finish my card off I added some orange satin ribbon I found in my stash.

Here are some more photo's for you to get a better look.

Thank you for visiting with me today, and Have a Magical Monday.

Wazzup!!

Wazzup!!  That's What this adorable Li'l Grumpy wants to know, he's from the Li'l Grumpies set of stamps by Smeared Ink. The Li'l Grumpy is stamped with a multicoloured dye ink pad, I then blended the image with a blender pen before heat embossing with clear embossing powder.  I inked up an embossing folder with the same ink, put a piece of white card stock in it, and ran it through my machine, I gave this a quick blend before heating embossing it.  I cleaned my embossing folder before embossing some purple coredinations card.  I then die cut my images, punched some circles out of the card scraps, and then played around with my layers until i was happy with the layout.  I love all the texture in this card.

I hope this Li'l Grumpy has made you smile today!

As you can see, This week's card is very similar to last weeks, I used the same Bo Bunny papers for my quilted background, as well as some red and black card from my stash.  Davey is coloured with promarkers and a little prismacolour pencil, the sentiment is a freebie from TLC Creations.  To finish my card I added some faux stitching, and a handmade rose, with some black leaves.

Thanks for visiting with me today, and don't forget to check out the rest of the BDolls Creations, I'm sure you'll find something to inspire you.

Magical Monday Colour Challenge with Paper Cupcakes

This week Ildiko Cseh brings us our challenge. She wants us to use a combo of bright and cheery colors this week and the colors she chose were: Green, Yellow and Orange! Fun colors, so let's see those fun and cheery cards everyone!

My Card features this week's freebie image 'Hello Sunshine' which is available over at There's Magic in the Air.  I've also used one of the Summer Ticket Sentiments.  I coloured the image with prismacolour pencils and OMS, before die cutting it, I used a pinking circle die to cut a background layer for my image, and used one of the smaller dies in the set to cut a lovely yellow sun.  I used a mixture of papers from my stash, some was used for the background, I also die cut some swirls, and paper roses.  I added a couple of yellow fabric butterflys to my swirls, and some pearls to my roses.

Desert Islands Crafters Challenge #6

It's time for a new challenge at Desert Islands Crafters Challenge, and this time it's a little different, it's not a previous winner or DT members Itinerary we are using, We decided to ask The Queen what items should be on the Itinerary to create a project to commemorate the forthcoming Royal Celebrations Here is what she chose;

The Queen's Itinerary

1. Red, White & Blue

2. Fairytale

3. Ribbon

4. Lace

5. Crown Jewels

6. Horse & Carriage

7. Stair Step Card

8. Castle

9. Prince Charming

10. Princess Bride

I have to admit, I love this list, who doesn't like to make pretty princess fairytale cards?  I decided to make a stair step card, as I love this fold, so simple but very effective, especially if you want to create a scene on your card, I followed the tutorial on Splitcoaststampers.com, although I made my card slightly wider at 7" instead of 5 1/2".

I used papers from Echo Park's Be Mine Collection, along with some silver card stock from my local paper mill.  I used Tiddly Ink's 'Castle in the Sky' image on the back step of the card, trimming away most of the cloud, so it looks more like a little hill.  I used AJ the Groom and Audrey the Bride from The Stamping Boutique for my Prince Charming, and Princess Bride.

I coloured my images with Letraset Promakers and Sakura Stardust Glitter pen, then cut them out before gluing them to the steps of the card.  I added a piece of pink organza ribbon to the middle step before adding the bride and groom.   I used an Echo Park Sentiment sticker on the bottom step of the card.  To finish my card off I scattered pink and clear gems in various sizes over the steps, and added some clear gems to the Bride's Tiara and Dress.

I hope you feel inspired to join in our challenge, which is open until midnight April 30th.

I Love Suzi Blu

Good Afternoon All, Today I'd like to share a fun card I've made featuring the 'Queen of Glitter' image by Suzi Blu.  I stamped the image three times onto white card stock, coloured each girl to coordinate with my papers, and then cut them out.  I chose papers from Echo Park's Playground Collection, I created a little backdrop for the girls, before sticking them to the card.  The only real embellishment on this card is the bunting which is cut from one of the patterned papers.  I figured there was so much going on with all the bright colours that the card didn't need anything else.  Hope you like it!
Enjoy the rest of your Day

Want some Rag Dolls?

Today the Burtonesque Dolls are previewing some new images. Simply Betty Stamps is releasing a super cute range of Rag Dolls.Let us introduce Lena and Misty!  Both will be accompanied next week on Tuesday by two more cute Rag Dolls!  They will also be available next week for purchase @ simplybettystamps.com.

We challenge you to create a quilted background using different pieces of paper and sewing them together to create that background!  Not as hard as it sounds I promise!  It's fun, and just think of the cool "rags" you can patch together!  You may use any image you like!  Have fun and see you next week for the release of the rest of the Ragdolls!

Here's my card featuring Misty

I used some red and black card stock from my stash to create my card blank, and for some of my quilt squares, the other squares come from the Bo Bunny Crush Collection.  I used my new nesties to cut out my image, and sentiment, and i made some roses from red card stock using a new English Rose Die.

It's Magical Monday with Paper Cupcakes

The challenge at There's Magic in the Air  this week is brought to us by Chelsea and she wants us to incorporate "Fabric and Stitching" on our projects.  You can use fabric on a covered brad, make a flower out of fabric, or just use a piece of fabric instead of a patterned paper.  So have fun creating your project this week and be sure to post it on the Paper Cupcakes challenge blog.  Can't wait to see what awesome creations you make.

For my card I chose to use the beautiful 'Mandelina' from Paper Cupcakes.  I decided to use fabric for my background, so created a patchwork effect by cutting squares of a patterned fabric, and some blue felt.  I glued the squares of fabric to a piece of cardstock with my ATG, folding the edges over and glueing at the back to create a nice edge.  I then glued this panel to a cream card blank, before adding some stitching detail with pink floss.  Mandelina is coloured with promarkers then cut out and glued onto the background.  I didn't want to over embellish the card and detract from the image and fabric, so I created some bunting, using scraps of the fabric and felt, and a banner die,  I stapled this together to give a rustic feel.

I must admit i was a little daunted by the idea of using fabric as the complete background on my card, but I think it works. I love the bunting, and I'm sure i'll be making some more of that soon!

I hope you have a Magical Monday and find time to play along with our Challenge

A Stylish Saturday with CASE Study

The idea behind the CASE Study challenges is all about getting inspired by some of the most talented paper crafters in the industry. They feature a new Guest Designer (Muse) every month, and show how this person inspires them. Then, you simply do the same, create a card inspired by the current inspiration piece.

This months Muse is Silke Ledlow
The inspiration card that we're starting off this month with, is a classic "Silke-style" creation. Bold & beautiful...

And here is my card inspired by Silke's beautiful creation
I love the amount of space in Silke's card, aswell as the wonderful bold colours. and great layout; so that is what I tried to emulate.  I used the beautiful '20/40' image from The Enchantment Collection at The Stamping Boutique.

This was such a fun challenge, I've never done a CASE Challenge before, but I think I like it, so I'll definately be checking out more of the Challenges at CASE Study Challenge Blog.

Have a wonderful weekend

It's all About Rio Challenge

Today we are challenging you to create your best Rio card... any Rio will do, Rio ZOMBIE, School Girl Rio, Summer Rio any Rio card anything goes... but if you want an added challenge make Black your main color, and throw in some skullies!  Have fun Rio, she is after all quiet a fun gal!

For my card today I couldn't resist using the new Rio ZOMBIE, isn't she gorgeous, you wouldn't think a Zombie could look so cute, but this one definately does.  You really need to check out the new ZOMBIE TEENS Collection at Simply Betty Stamp, because every one of them is a work of art, beautifully drawn, and they have great wit and character, as you can probably tell, I love them.

I kept my card fairly simple, using some scraps of decorative paper in purple and blue on a cream card blank. I used a border punch to create the illusion of a notebook page.  I coloured Rio ZOMBIE with prismacolour pencils.  I stapled a sentiment from the Zombie Sentiments to my image.  To finish it all off I added some square gems in purple and green to echo the square design on the patterned paper.

I had great fun with this card, I'm quite into Zombies at the moment, especially as 'The Walking Dead' premieres on UK TV this Sunday, I can't wait to watch it.  So It will be a Zombie filled weekend for me.

Have a great day, and Watch out for those Zombies, they're on their way!!!

You Are Loved

Today's card featured the beautiful 'You Are Loved' stamp from Suzi Blu.  I stamped the image, and coloured it with Prismacolour pencils; I then cut the sentiment from the top and bottom of the image, and trimmed round the frame of the image to give more focus to the image.  I chose a mix of papers to coordinate with my colour scheme, and used my cropadile to add some decorative holes.  I trimmed the sentiment, added some colour, and then arrange it on my card.  Finally I added a few pearls for a bit of bling.

Have a great day

Getting Fancy with Critter Sketch Challenge and The Stamping Boutique

One of the great things about The Stamping Boutique is that Tracey loves to sponsor challenges, so as part of the DT I get to play along with any that take my fancy.  Today's card is for this week's challenge over at Critter Sketch Challenge; a challenge blog i'd not come across before, but looks like fun.  Their challenge this week is to create a card using a Fancy Fold; so I decided to make a Spring Card.

For my card I chose to use one of the newest additions to The Enchantment Line, a beautiful image called 'Thoughts'.  I picked out some gold cardstock and orange vellum from my stash, with the intention of doing a rather monochromatic card with shades of orange, gold and yellow.  I decided to start colouring the face with a nice orange and red combination, leaving lots of white paper to emphasise the light nature of the image.  I then started on the hair with a red pencil, followed by orange for the next strands of hair, I then came up with the idea of rainbow hair, and I love how it turned out.  I used Prismacolour Verithin Pencils for this project, which have a thinner, harder lead than the normal Prismacolour pencils.

To embellish my card I decided to add some pearls in the colours of the rainbow to compliment the rainbow hair.  I added some orange vellum behind my image, and to the base of the Spring Card, to which I also added a Tim Holtz Ticket along with a couple of 3D Butterfly stickers.

I love the image I used, and can't wait to try out some different colour combinations on it.  It really is a beautiful image to colour.

Burtonesque Brides are Beautiful

This week we have a fun challenge for you and an awesome sponsor, with the Royal Wedding soon upon us, we are getting all romantic and creating cards for beautiful brides and bridesmaids, or any bridal event!!  But don't forget to add that Burtonesque Twist!!

Our sponsor this week is Tiddly Inks, and the BDolls got the great pleasure of creating with some of Tiddly Inks newest images from the Gothic Pin-up Collection.  Christy has offered $10 worth of stamps to the winner of Burtonesque Brides are Beautiful from her awsome store!

Here's my card;
For my card I decided to create a scene using the wonderful 'Made for You' image as a rather dejected bridesmaid.  The Happy Couple have just left the church ready to start they life together, I used the Gothic Window image for my church, simply erasing the bits of the image that i didn't want.  I then layered all the images together in one photoshop project, adding the text for my sentiment, before printing the scene out.

I coloured my scene with Letraset Promarkers, adhered it to a piece of black glossy card stock, and then added a hand stitched frame. I then simply adhered my panel to a square card blank, and Voila, the finished card.

The Challenge is open until Midnight 11th April, so you've plenty of time to join in and show us your Beautiful Brides and Bridesmaids.

A Magical Monday Mother's Day Card

Today I'd like to share with your the card I made for my Mum for Mother's Day, which was yesterday here in the UK.  This card is also for Magical Monday Challenge over at There's Magic in the Air, this week's challenge is nice and simple, 'Let's Use Flowers' you can use whatever sort of flowers you want, just have fun with it.  I chose to go with a floral image; my Mum loves Poppies, so the 'Poppies' image from Paper Cupcakes was perfect for this card.

This was a really easy card to make, as I knew I wanted the Poppies image to be the main focal point, so I decided to go with an easel card.  A couple of weeks ago I bought the purple glittered letters specifically for this card, my Mum's favourite colour is purple, so what could be better than purple glittery letters to go with the purple poppies.  I used a purple striped paper for the background on my card, and coloured my image with prismacolour pencils and oms.

I'm pleased to say Mum liked it so much, she said she's going to frame it.  So I think i did OK!!

Going Dotty with The Stamping Boutique & Card Cupids

The Stamping Boutique is sponsoring this weeks challenge over at Card Cupids, so I decided to play along with the challenge, which is to include Dots and/or Stripes on your card.  For my card I chose to use the 'Emo Quote' image from The Stamping Boutique, have you seen Tracey's new whimsical images, they are awesome, and so much fun to colour.

I used papers from DCWV's All Dressed Up Paper Stack, along with some Echo Park - Be Mine Love Song paper.  I created my card base from some black glossy card, and used this same card to punch out some leaves, to go with the tissue paper flowers I made.  My image is coloured with prismacolour pencils.  To finish my card I added some pink and blue heart gems along with a few black pearls.

Thanks for visiting with me today, and Enjoy what is left of your weekend
