It's Magical Monday with Paper Cupcakes

The challenge at There's Magic in the Air  this week is brought to us by Chelsea and she wants us to incorporate "Fabric and Stitching" on our projects.  You can use fabric on a covered brad, make a flower out of fabric, or just use a piece of fabric instead of a patterned paper.  So have fun creating your project this week and be sure to post it on the Paper Cupcakes challenge blog.  Can't wait to see what awesome creations you make.

For my card I chose to use the beautiful 'Mandelina' from Paper Cupcakes.  I decided to use fabric for my background, so created a patchwork effect by cutting squares of a patterned fabric, and some blue felt.  I glued the squares of fabric to a piece of cardstock with my ATG, folding the edges over and glueing at the back to create a nice edge.  I then glued this panel to a cream card blank, before adding some stitching detail with pink floss.  Mandelina is coloured with promarkers then cut out and glued onto the background.  I didn't want to over embellish the card and detract from the image and fabric, so I created some bunting, using scraps of the fabric and felt, and a banner die,  I stapled this together to give a rustic feel.

I must admit i was a little daunted by the idea of using fabric as the complete background on my card, but I think it works. I love the bunting, and I'm sure i'll be making some more of that soon!

I hope you have a Magical Monday and find time to play along with our Challenge
Bye for Now
