It's Release Day at Pixie Dust Studio..

Release Day is finally here, and you can now get your hands on the *7* Collection.  I'm sure your going to want to get the whole collection, as these wee men are all such fun to colour.  Today I'd like to share with you my favourite image of the release...
This is 'Bashful', isn't he the cutest wee man.  I love how he's so shy he's got to wear a bag on his head, poor wee man. I figured he was crying out to be loved, and that's what inspired my sentiment.

Here is the whole collection together...
Don't they look like a fun group of guys.  Want to see more cards created with these cuties, then hop over to the Pixies Blog's as they've lots to share with you.

There is also a new challenge over at the Pixie Dust Studio Challenge Blog today, and it fits perfectly with today's release.  So why not enter, you never know you could be winning!!

Have a great day

Two More of *7* from a Sneaky Pixie!

I've two more cards to share with you today from the forthcoming *7* Collection by Pixie Dust Studio.  My first card features a wee man who's not feeling to grand, here's Sneezy...
Sneezy is a bit of a silly wee man too, as he at some mushrooms that he found in the woods, never a good idea unless your a fungi expert; so he's feeling a little off colour now.   Luckily for Sneezy my second card today features someone who might be able to make him feel a little better, here's Doc...
I'm sure Doc will try his best to make Sneezy feel better, but i'm not sure the sight of that massive needle is going to help!!

You'll get to see the rest of the *7* Collection tomorrow, as well as being able to purchase them all.  If you can't wait til them, make sure you visit the Pixies to see what wonderful creations they have to share with you today.

Bye for now

It's Whimsy Wednesday...

Yes, It's Wednesday again already, so time for a new Whimsy Stamps Challenge.  This week's is fun, very easy but challenging too.

No Patterned Paper Challenge - That's right, your not allowed to use any patterened paper, that includes making your own!!

Here's my card...
I used the awesome 'Lia Working' image by Lia Stampz available at Whimsy Stamps for the main focal point of my card. I coloured her with Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers, and then fussy cut her.  My background was created using the 'Abstract' Sizzlit Extended Die, along with a selection of papers to create a rainbow effect. I then added some rainbow ribbon to the bottom of the card, and some assorted buttons.

I love how bright and cheerful this turned out. I hope you like it too, and you feel inspired to join us at Whimsy Stamps Challenge.

Have a great day

Two of *7* from a Sneaky Pixie!!!

Today I have 2 cards to share with you from the truly wonderful *7* Collection by Pixie Dust Studio; don't worry it's only a couple of day until Release Day, so I won't tease you for long.

Firstly let me introduce Happy..
His name definitely suits him, as he's one very happy wee man.  He's coloured with Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers.  I used some leftovers from my card stash for the background, and added them to a gold card blank.  I kept the embellishment very simple, with a little candle brad; it was a pale green so i coloured it with my promarkers to go with Happy's T Shirt.

Secondly let me introduce Sleepy...
Isn't he a little cutie? I teamed Sleepy with some chocolate cardstock and some leftover papers from DCWV.  I used a Martha Stewart border punch to create my heart borders, and cut the word 'dream' out with my die-namic's alphabet dies.

Come back tomorrow to meet some more adorable wee men.
Have a great day

Mad Hatter Hop with Simply B Stamps

We're All Mad Here, that's for sure, so in honor of our madness, and the fact that it's release day, let's have a very Mad Hatter Hop.

Yes, today you get to meet the final character in the Alice in Wonderland Chibis Collection, none other than The Hatter himself.

Isn't he awesome, completely bonkers, rather like myself.  I had so much fun on this card.
The Hatter was coloured with Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers before being fussy cut. I used some digital papers for my background, along with Washi Tape, Black and White Twine and a Beautiful Butterfly Sticker.

The Papers for today's project and a couple of them earlier in the week all came from this wonderful Alice in Wonderland Digi Kit available at Divine Digital.

Thanks for stopping by today, and if you've stumbled across the hop by accident, here's the full Blog Hop list so you don't miss any stops.

Our Mad Hatter Hop starts at the SBS Blog
and then finishes back at the SBS Blog.

Don't forget to leave comments to be in with a chance of winning a prize, full details are on the Simply B Stamps Blog, along with some great discount codes.

Happy Hopping

Here's Alice in all her Glory..

Yes today we are introducing you to our main character, the very curious and adventurous Alice..

For this card I was inspired by the Garden Party and the Summer House and the Blue butterfly Alice talks to as the film ends.

You may have seen this card before, I created it a couple of months ago for a blog hop, based on our favourite books.  I still love this card, with the mix of the Make It Crafty Background the stenciled checkered board floor, and the beautiful Alice image.

Only one more image for you to see before you can get your hands on this awesome collection, so make sure you join us tomorrow.

The theme this week is 'Favourite Things'
All you have to do is create a project with at least 3 of your favourite things on it, is that simple or what!!

So here's my list of Favourite Things
Pixie Dust Studio Image - Brittney Loves from the Love Struck Collection
Easel Cards
Pink & Red
Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers

Heart Buttons.

I could have added more, but decided not to over do it.  I love how this card turned out. Definitely one of my favourite creations.  What to do with a card featuring lots of my Favourite Things?  That was simple, I gave it to my Favourite Person, my hubby Stewart when he came home last night.  He loves it too :D

It's Ez to get in Shape with Whimsy Stamps...

This week's Whimsy Stamps Challenge is nice and easy 'Anything Goes' as long as you use some sort of template on your project.  The DT are showcasing the wonderful selection of Shape EZ templates you can download from Whimsy Stamps.

I chose to use the Gift Pouch template, it was so easy.  I trimmed some Echo Park cardstock to A4 so it fitted in my printer, then printed the template onto the reverse.  I then cut it out by hand, a few short scores and folds later, and voila a really cute little pouch.  I used a Martha Stewart Border Punch to give me a lovely decorative edging to the pouch closure, which is kept close with a couple of Basic Grey Magnetic Closures.  I used a strip of card from my original 12 x 12 to create a handle.  To complete my pouch I added an Echo Park Cardstock Sticker.

I can't believe how easy this was to make, and it turned out so cute. Definitely a fun project.
Hope over to the Whimsy Stamps Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the DT have created for you, there really is a beautiful assortment of projects.

Have a great day

Oh My It's Double the Trouble at Simply B Stamps

...with today's preview. This week we are showcasing the wonderful Alice in Wonderland Chibis Collection.

Here's the Tweedles, aren't they funny, just like brothers, always fighting and bickering, lol!
I had real fun with card, embracing the blue, red and black and white colour scheme, and going just a little mental with the miniture playing cards.

This new line is from artist Alicia Bel  And all week long we will be taking you down the rabbit hole with the rest of the Alice gang, inspired of course by the Tim Burton version of Alice in Wonderland!

I have to say I love working with images inspired by some of my favourite characters in literature and film/television. I think it's important to take inspiration from the great works of the past and present, it's part of our literary history. It's also important to publicly declare your inspiration, I am completely against plagiarism in any form.

Definition of plagiarism according to

  [pley-juh-riz-uhm, -jee-uh-riz-]  Show IPA

It's all about creativity, and taking an idea and running with it; I wonder how many great inventions would not exist if people didn't take inspiration from the works of others!!  An interesting thought!

That's all from me for today

New Challenge at DICC and it's a tough one...

This week we have a fun but rather tough itinerary for our lasted challenge over at Desert Island Crafters Challenge Blog created by a very special guest - Jingle
Check out her itinerary:

1. Squirrel
2. Racoon
3. Monkey
4. Moustache
5. Gnome
6. Orange
7. Grass
8. Paper Piecing
9. Colored Pencil Coloring
10. Rainbow (interpret as you will)

Here is my card based on the Itinerary...
It took me a little while to come up with an idea for this card, but then I stumbled across the Gnome World Collection of images @ Pixie Dust Studio, and all my problems were solved. I combined 3 images from the Gnome World Collection along with Tweet Tree image.  I merged my images in Photoshop, and cropped the combined image to create a little scene.  My image is coloured with Letraset Promarkers/Flexmarkers before being layered onto Orange Vellum, which i then added to a Silver Mirror Card Blank.  To finish my card I added a computer generated sentiment.

I love how bright and cheerful this card looks, and it was great fun to colour.  Hope you'll be inspired to join in the Challenge @ DICC.

Thanks for visiting with me

RIP Bagpuss, My Beautiful Boy

Today has been one of the hardest days of my life; we had to have our Beautiful Bagpuss put to sleep.  Baggy was taken ill over the weekend with a Blocked Bladder so the Vets had kept him in to give him some fluids, flush out his system, and some antibiotics.  He was very impressed with the collar or catheter they had to put on him, but he recovered well from the blockage.  He was looking much better yesterday, and they were just keeping him in for observation to make sure that he had eaten and drank something before they would let him home; we were expecting him to come home this afternoon.

We phoned the Vet this morning to check up on him, and were told that he wasn't very well, had a temperature and low blood pressure, so they were gonna give him more antibiotics and see what was wrong.

The Vet called us this afternoon to say that Bagpuss was a very poorly boy, they had the blockage in his bladder cleared up, but he had developed a blood clot on the spine, so his back legs had gone rigid; they had also found that he had a weak heart.

The blood clot could have been cleared, but the Vet said he would be poorly again in a day or two, and that the long term prognosis wasn't good.  Stewart and I decided that we couldn't let him go through anymore stress or pain, so the kindest thing was to put him to sleep.

I can't believe how much this hurts; Bagpuss was my best friend.  If I was in bed he'd be at the side of me, he'd want lots of petting, and then would settle down and sleep next to me; his deep purring used to send me to sleep.  If I was in the Living Room, he would be on the back of my sofa next to me, he had created his very own dent in the sofa, Baggy's Spot.  I can't believe that i'm never going to see him again, he was only 5 years old, so we thought he'd be with us for so much longer.  We got him 18 months ago, just after my birthday, and he'd been my best friend ever since.

We both loved him very much, Stewart called him 'My Boy' and had to give him some fuss every morning when he got up, or Bagpuss would sulk.  We are going to miss him so much, but he will be in our hearts forever.

A New Burton in the House!!

Time for another sneak peek of a new Burton inspired image from the Burton Chibis 2 Collection available on Friday at Simply B Stamps.  I'm sure you remember Miss Betty Burton from the first collection, well Betty has created another new Burton character for us;

Introducing Miss Rio Burton...
Isn't she beautiful?  Just like the real Rio, and Miss Betty Burton is so like Betty I wanted to combine them both onto one card, showing just how beautiful both Mother and Daughter are.  I used bright colours for this card, because both Rio and Betty are bright, cheerful and wonderfully rich characters.

Not really much else i can say about my card, except that i love how it turned out, nearly as beautiful as my inspiration.

Show us Your Irish with the Pixies!

Hello Pixie friends!!  I hope you are having a great week!  Are you ready for a fun new challenge with the Pixies?  This week, we invite you to.....

anything that makes you think "Irish"....colors, images, embellishments, sentiments, patterned paper....there is no wrong way!

I used the adorable Lucky Pixie from the Breeze Collection for this week's card.  I used a mix of papers from my stash, with the main pattern featuring the shamrock.  I added faux stitching to all my paper pieces, before adding the adorable Lucky Pixie, who was coloured with Letraset Promarkers and Flexmarkers.  To finish my card off, I used a computer generated sentiment based on an irish saying printed onto Letraset Safmat to sticker.

Good times, good friends, good health to you..
and the luck of the Irish in all that you do.

Have a great week

It's Pie Time!!

Yesterday Sweeney Todd did the Butchering, so Today it's Pie Time, and Mrs Lovett has been very busy in the kitchen today.  Not sure i'd want to eat any of her pies, you've have to be very very very hungry I think, lol!!

Introducing Mrs Lovett...
Isn't she adorable, so nice to see someone baking, not sure i'd want to try her recipes tho!!

My background is a digital paper from the 'Twilight Magic Paper Biggie' available at Scrap Girls Digital Scrapbooking Site.  I printed the paper and then trimmed and layered it onto a card blank.  I stamped my sentiment and added a dymo label to alter it to suit my card.  Mrs Lovett is coloured with Letraset Promarkers and Flexmarkers, and then fussy cut and adhered to the card.

Mrs Lovett will be available at the end of the week along with the rest of the Burton Chibis 2 Collection at Simply B Stamps.  Lots of time for sneaky peeks before then, some come back tomorrow to see what tempting treats we have for you!!

The Burton Chibis are BACK!!!

It's my great pleasure to say that Simply B Stamps is releasing a second collection of Burton Chibis, Yes Burton Chibis 2 is coming soon, but before we let you buy them, how about a week of sneaky peeks!!!

What better way to start off than with a Deadly Dashingly Gorgeous Gent for you...
Mr Sweeney Todd
I have to say that Sweeney Todd is one of my favourite Tim Burton films, it's not for everyone tho, as it's rather heavy on the gore, but I love it!!

I had so much fun with this card, firstly i printed off a checker board floor paper with white walls, I then trimmed this and using a 'dripping goo' embossing folder embossed it.  I then went over the embossing with a Versamark pad before adding a deep red enamel embossing powder.  I'd been a little heavy on the Versamark, so had to scrape some of the embossing powder off the paper before i heat embossed it.  I ran the paper through the embossing folder a second time after I'd heat embossed it, before going over the paper with Fired Brick Distress Ink, I used a dry sponge to blend the ink a little.

Sweeney Todd is coloured with Letraset Promarkers and Flexmarkers, before being fussy cut and glued to the background.  I created a card blank from some black textured card, to which i added my background and image.  To finish the card off I created a sentiment with my Dymo label maker, using a quote from one of the songs in the film.

Like Sweeney Todd? then make sure you come back tomorrow for another Tasty Sneaky Peek!!

Bye for now

Feeling a little Distressed with DICC!

Good Morning all, It's Friday already, and not only that it's also the beginning of a new month, I don't know where the time is going, but it's really flying by!

We have a new challenge over at Desert Island Crafters Challenge (DICC); The current Itinerary was created by the very talented Jenn Borjeson

Jenn's Itinerary
1.) Vintage
2.) Distressing

3.) Make the text/sentiment the focal point
4.) Dress forms
5.) Steampunk
6.) 3 or more ribbons
7.) Fussy cutting
8.) Anything but a card

9.) Metal hardware (charms, brads, eyelets, etc.)
10.) No patterned paper

As you can see I created a set of 3 ATCs, something i've not done in ages, and I have to say it was so much fun to work at that scale again, and just let loose.  I used Lolli, Hamlet and Lulu from The Coquettes Collection available at Simply B Stamps.

I coloured my images with Letraset Promarkers and Flexmarkers to give a Sepia impression, I think it's worked quite nicely.  I then added sentiments from Lili of the Valley's Words for Tickets set.  To create my distressed background i sponged Antique Linen and Walnut Stain Distress Ink over a Crafter's Workshop Punchinella Template, I then blended a little with a damp sponge.  To finish my ATCs I distressed the edges and added a skull metal embellishment to Hamlet's card.

I'm really pleased with how my ATCs turned out, I'd forgotten how much fun they are to make, so I think I'll be making some more soon. I hope you find time to play along with the DICC current challenge, as we'd love to see your creations.

Thanks for visiting with me today
Have a Wonderful Day

New Release Blog Hop with Whimsy Stamps

Can you believe it's the 1st of March already, and that means it's time for another awesome release of new digital image at Whimsy Stamps.  I have to say there are so many beautiful images being released today, i honestly don't know how your going to decide which to get, and then which to colour first!!

You should have arrived from the wonderful Shannah's blog, if not then i suggest you hop over to the Whimsy Inspiration Blog to start at the beginning of our fun hop.

For my card today i chose the wonderful 'Photographer' image by Lia Stampz.  This image looks wonderful on a card, but can you imagine how cool it would look on a scrapbook page!  My sentiment is from the Treasured Moments Ticket Sentiments set by Whimsy Stamps.

Your next stop on the hop is the very talented Wendy's Blog, i'm sure she's got something beautiful to share with you.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy hopping

What a beautiful BREEZE

It's release day at the Pixie Dust Studio and you get to see the beautiful Breeze Collection in all it's glory.  Such a wonderful mix of springtime images, with a couple of Irish inspired images for those St Paddy Day cards.

It's also time for a new challenge at the Pixie Dust Studio Challenge Blog, and this week's is dead simple, all you have to do is add some Buttons to your project...

My card features the adorable 'Shamrock Elf' who is released today as part of the Breeze Collection. Isn't he fun!  My card is really very simple, i used a mix of scrap papers all featuring green, to which i added some green buttons from my stash, along with a fancy tag die cut, and a sweet sentiment.  Shamrock Elf is coloured in Letraset Promarkers, Flexmarkers and Metallic Marker for his buckles.

I'm hoping this collection brings you as much luck as it has me; My wonderful hubby Stewart got offered a job yesterday after working really hard over the last couple of years to get himself back to full health and find a job.  Not only is it a good job, but it uses the skills he developed in his previous job and gives him plenty of scope to learn more, so it should be a really fun and challenging job for him.

Wishing you all lots of love and luck
