Dare to be Sassy Thursday #326 - Tag your it!

Today I'd like to share with you my creation for this weeks Dare to be Sassy Thursday Challenge over at Sassy Studio Designs. I'm having so much fun as Guest Designer, I will be very sad when my time to leave comes, but until then I get to play with gorgeous images like the one in today's project.

The Dare to be Sassy Thursday Challenge theme this week is 'Tag Your It' - we simply want you to create a tag.

Here's my tag;
I used the wonderfully quirky 'Buttercream Babe - Mad Hatter' image from Sassy Studio Designs.  As the image is quite quirky I wanted my tag design to be pretty quirky too; when I started my project I had no idea how it was going to look, I only knew that I wanted to focus on the top part of the image.

I coloured my image with Letraset Tria and Promarkers then cut it down to fit nicely on a tag.  I was going to add the teapot on a separate smaller tag, so fussy cut that out.  Whilst playing with the layout I popped the teapot on top of the Mad Hatters' Hat and knew that was where it belonged.

My tag measures approximately 8 inches by 3 1/2 inches. I used White Card stock for my tag base to which I added a layer of black paper.  Before sticking these together I punched the holes in both layers, as you can see my punched holes are off centre, another happy accident!  I stuck my cardstock and backing paper together then added my image, along with some scrap piece of white paper to break up the large area of black at the top of the card.  I then added my crazy teapot along with Alphabet Stickers for my sentiment.

To embellish my tag I added some doodles frames along with a selection of fun ribbons.

I love that crazy teapot and hat combination.

That's all from me for today, If you've read this far Thank you so much, I really appreciate all my visitors.  Don't forget to hop over to the Sassy Studio Designs Blog to check out the gorgeous tags created by the rest of the Design Team.  I hope you'll have time to join in our challenge.

Happy Birthday Minecraft Style!

Today I'd like to share with you a Birthday Card a friend of mine commissioned me to make for her Grandson's birthday. Wee Tommy is turning 11, loves Minecraft and his cat Tigger, so here's what I came up with;
 I used the wonderful 'Game, No Poster (revised)' image from Saturated Canary for this, along with Bo the cat from 'Becca and Bo' a retired Saturated Canary image.  I coloured my images to look like Tommy and Tigger, and gave Tommy a minecraft inspired outfit.

My background papers are digital papers from a 'Pixel Paper Set' by FoxyExpressions' Etsy Store. I used Simple Stories Letter Stickers to create my sentiment.

I followed a tutorial from Splitcoaststampers for this Bendi Card.  A fun style card, that works quite well with the theme.

Here's a picture of the closed card.

I had fun working on this card, I must admit that the Minecraft theme had me a little stumped to start off with, but i'm really happy with the end result. Hopefully Tommy loves it too!

That's all from me for today, Thank You for visiting with me

Dare to be Sassy Thursdays with Sassy Studio Designs

Today I'd like to share with you my creation for this week's Dare to be Sassy Thursday Challenge over at the Sassy Studio Designs Blog

 I'm lucky enough to be Guest Designer at the moment, and had great fun creating my card for this week's challenge, apology's for the lateness of my post, i've not been well this week.

Our Challenge theme this week is 'Steampunk'

Here's my Sassy Steampunky creation;
I used the gorgeous 'Sassy Frankenstein's Monster' image for my creation.  She is coloured with Letraset Tria and Promarkers with the addition of some Uni Posca White Pen, and Black Fineliner.

For my background I printed elements from the Time Machine Digital Download set from Alphastamps.com  I fussy cut my images then layered onto a piece of wood effect patterned paper.

To add some texture I added some metallic orange/copper netting behind my image.  Along with a Gold Satin Bow and Ribbon Flower and some gem flourishes.

I'm quite pleased with how this project turned out, as Steampunk isn't a style that comes naturally to me, but boy did I have fun with this card.  I hope you like it as much as I do.

You've still got plenty of time to join in our challenge over at the Sassy Studio Designs Blog, we'd love to see you take on Steampunk.
