Happy New Year to You All..

So it's time for me to post my last card of 2010, and I thought it rather appropriate to use my Pixie Dust Studio Challenge Card for this week, as the theme is 'Happy New Year'.  I love this 'No Place Like Gnome' image from the Gnomeworld Collection at Pixie Dust Studio. and decided it would make the perfect image for a New Year card, afterall New Year is all about wishing and hoping for a Happy New Year, and that's exactly what this image says to me.

I've had great fun sharing my cards with your all this year, and thank you for taking the time to visit with me and leave comments.  I look forward to another wonderful crafty year ahead, see you then.

Wishing you all Health, Wealth & Happiness for 2011

Under the Weather with the Pixies...

I've finally managed to finish my card for this weeks Pixie Dust Challenge, unfortunately like the little gnome in my card i've been under the weather this week, so i'm a little behind with things.

This week's Pixie Dust Challenge is to make a 'Get Well Soon' card, very appropriate for this time of year with all the nasty little bugs that seem to be going round.  The image i used is entitled 'Under the Weather' and comes with the sentiment, so your getting a very nice 2 for 1, and a perfect image for Get Well Cards.

I used papers from Basic Grey's Origins Paper Pad, along with some washi tape, felt clouds, green gems and white pearls.

Thanks for visiting with me today, and have a great weekend

Happy Holidays with the Groovy Gurlz

It's Thursday so it's time for a Groovy Challenge with StampInsanity's Groovy Gurlz.  This is the last challenge for this year, so it's a very seasonal one.  All you have to do is create a Happy Holidays card, it can be traditional, contemporary or a mixture of both, just go with the flow and get your groove on.

For my card I decided to use Holiday Princess Maddie, I just love this image, in fact i love all the Maddie's, she's got such a cute face, I love colouring her in.  If you haven't guessed by now, i like Pink, so of course i had to make a Pink Christmas Card; It does help that there are a lot of seasonal papers out there in pink.

I kept my background very simple, a lovely pink snowflake patterned paper, with some white card stock embossed with snow. I then coloured Princess Maddie to coordinate with my background, before adding some iridescent fabric snowflake embellishments, and a few pearls and gems.

I hope your all enjoying your preparations for the coming holidays, and wish you all a very happy and safe holiday.  Hope Santa's good to you all

Have a ball with Make The Day Special

So it's nearly Christmas, so that makes it Party Season too.  So I decided to make a winter inspired party card using one of the Lil' Grumpies by Smeared Ink.  I love Smeared Ink stamps, something a little different to mainstream images, but always fun to work with; real quality unmounted red rubber deep-etched images trim and slap on an acrylic block.

I used a card blank, patterened paper, scalloped border die-cut and chipboard tag all from Issue 37 of Let's Make Cards.  Not a magazine i get that often, but the quality of items with it are always quite good.  I stamped my Lil' Grumpy onto white cardstock with Black Memento Ink, and coloured with Promarkers.  I then cut this out and layered it onto a scallop oval die-cut.  To add a little texture to my card, I added some scraps of sequin waste in the background.   To finish it off I added some purple irridescent foam snowflakes, which i added gems too, along with a few gems scattered over my card.

I hope you like it, Thanks for looking

The Burtonesque Dolls go all Oogie Boogie...

Okay, so what is Christmas without that Oogie Boogie right? Today we are challenging you to create the perfect Oogie Boogie project imaginable!

For my card, I had some real fun and decided to create my own digistamp of the Oogie Boogie Man.  Nothing too complicated just a simple line art stamp, which i then printed out and coloured with my promarkers.  I printed out my sentiment and then drew a tree around it before colouring with the same promarkers as I used on Oogie Boogie.  I added some gems and some fine line stitching detail to echo the stitching on my main image.  The rest of the card is very simple, I took a green glitter card blank, added some fabric/textured paper to it, a few gems and the same fine line faux stitching.

We have a very special prize for you this week, but it will not be reveled until we announce the winner... so don't forget to take part in this week's challenge and link your project to the Burtonesque Dolls Blog.

New Release at Simply Betty Stamps

Yes your read correctly, Betty's releasing another collection of digital stamps today, and they are gorgeous.  Okay, so remember the Victorian Beauties? Well this new and exciting line is also from the very awesome artist... Gretchen Flores! Introducing...

For my card I chose to use the adorable Abby, she looks so happy skating along on the frozen lake.  I kept my background fairly simple, using some graduated green cardstock for my card base, which i then added some sequin waste too.  I wanted to create the impression of trees and grass in the background, so using paper from My Mind's Eye Alphabet Soup Range (available in Betty's Store Here)  I cut some grass like shapes.  I added this to my card along with some washi tape and some snowflake eyelets.

These are such lovely images to work with, you really must add them to your collection, and whilst your in Betty's Store, don't forget to check out her supply of papers, as alot of them are still reduced :)

A Winter Wedding with the Pixies

The theme for this weeks Pixie Dust Studio Challenge  is " Let's get Married "
Create a Wedding/Anniversary themed card/project

For my card I used the beautiful 'Forever Love' image which you can find in the Store. As it's now December I decided to go for a Winter Wedding inspired card; I used a leftover piece of Dovecraft Xmas Tree Paper, and some love pale blue cardstock from my stash.  I diecut my image, along with a coordinating scalloped oval shape, and my sentiment.  I used my cropadile to add some holes to the scalloped oval, just to make it look a little more delicate.  I embossed a piece of white cardstock with my snow embossing folder, and then simply layered it all together on a pale blue card.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to play along with the challenge to be in with a chance of winning an image of your choice.

Don't forget to pop back tomorrow for a rather 'sparkly' new release from the Pixie Dust Studio.
Bye for now

TGF Hoppin' into the Holidays....

Yes It's finally here, the TGF Holiday Blog Hop, I can't wait to see what everyone has created, I'm sure there will be lots of jawdroppingly delicious creations, aswell as some gorgeous new images.

 "Let it Snow"

With all the snow we've had recently I was inspired to have a go at creating snow in a slightly different way. I decided to use a silver card blank for my base, as i wanted to try and get as much light into my card as possible, and i hoped that this metallic finish would bounce the light around.

I then took some white felt and white sequin waste, and using my Cuttlebug, cut out a tree and some clouds.  I then hand cut some wavy shapes for my snow covered grass areas.  I stuck this all to my card base and then added some white pom poms.  Using Silver and Gold Glitter Spray I sprayed  the whole of my card.  I then left my card to dry for a little while.

The next step was to add some seed beads and crystal effect beads.  Then came my focal point the adorable Wild Sprout Jade from the Roll Call Collection by The Greeting Farm.  I stamped her in black memento ink and coloured her with Letraset Promarkers.  To finish my card off I added a gold die cut greeting.

I love the light and texture I've got on this card, and think Jade looks awesome in this crisp snowy setting.
I can't wait to see everyone else's creations, as i'm sure they'll be wonderful.
I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy holiday season, I hope you all get what you wish for the most, and have a wonderful blog hop.
Thanks for stopping here
