Tiddly Inks & Simply Betty Stamps Trick or Treat Blog Hop!! + Candy

What do you get when Two Companies Collide?  One fun fun fun blog hop!  Christy of Tiddly Inks and I are big Halloween fans so naturally we had to put together a fun Trick or Treat Blog Hop for you all!  Here are the details and a fun badge for you to display!

Theme: Trick or Treating with Tiddly Inks and Simply Betty Stamps

Dates: 6 PM CST on October 29th to 6 PM CST on October 31st

How to Participate: Post your creation on your personal blog between 12 PM CST and 5:55 PM CST on October 29th. The title of your post should be "Trick or Treating with Tiddly Inks and Simply Betty Stamps".

For my card I chose to use the beautiful Betty Belfrey along with Castle in the Sky from Tiddly Inks.  I went for a limited palette of soft greens, grey and purple for this card.  All my images are coloured with Letraset Promarkers, I also used the Letraset Airbrush with Aubergine and Shale Promarkers to add the airbrushing to my background, I love how you can add instant depth with just a press of the button (practice on scrap paper first, otherwise disasters can be close at hand, lol).

As a little treat from me, I'm offering my 12 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN FAT BOOK as candy, all you have to do is leave a comment here, and be a follower. I will draw a winner randomly on 1st of November, and announce it here.

Here is the Blog Hop list for both DTs! just in case you've gotten a little lost on your travels.

Start with Christy

On the 11th day of Halloween

On the 11th day of Halloween my Ghoul love gave to me... 11 Bats a Flying!
Break out those bats and scatter them abut your projects!
So It's time to go a little Batty, and I went Batty with Batty Bugg from Tiddly Inks on todays fat page. I coloured Batty in with my Promarkers, like i have done with all the other pages for my 12 days of Halloween Fat book;  you may also have noticed some recurring colours, I'm hoping that when the book is completed it has some unity to it.  Only one more page to go!!!

Happy Halloween from the Pixies

"Happy Halloween!" This week's Pixie Dust Studio Challenge, is a nice easy one, and a lot of fun.
Create a spooktacular card/project and be sure to include Orange and Black in there ;)
For my card i chose to use Island Pixie; I'd not had chance to colour her before, so thought this would be a great opportunity to colour her up, and try something a little different.  I made a few minor changes to her to make her more halloweeny, I turned her wings and stars into spiderwebs, and her brooch into a spider.  My black and white background was leftover from another card, and i thought combining that with orange, would be a great halloween card.  I added some orange ribbon with spiders on it, and a ticket sentiment.  To finish it all off I added some black pearls to my orange card base.

I'm really pleased with how this card turned out, I just love working with versatile image, and Pixie Dust Studio images are some of the most versatile; always lots of room to colour the image, and plenty of scope to add your own details.

I can't wait to see your Halloween cards, Have Fun

So today we get to play with Spiders, so for my fat page I chose the wonderful Spiderella image from the Spooky Hallow Collection at Simply Betty Stamps, along with some Inkadinkado Spiderweb and Spider stamps.  I coloured my image with letraset promarkers, and then used the letraset airbrush kit to airbrush the background with Ice Grey3 and Shale Promarkers.

On the 9th Day of Halloween

The challenge today is On the 9th Day of Halloween my Ghoul love gave to me Love Potion #9 in this cute Halloween Treat!

Today you will have to make a Love Potion, a Trinket Box, or Bag and Label it Love Potion #9! Use an image with your box and Viola! Your Love Potion #9 is ready!

Yep it's Day 9, and here is my creation, as you can see my Love Potion #9 is 2D rather than 3D, but I really wanted to stick with my plan of a fat page for each challenge, so I adapted today's challenge a little.  I used the super cute and rather sexy Hallo Shedevil digital stamps from The Greetings Farm for today's page.

Oh, Alice! - CHAPTER 36: CHESS - CHESSBOARD - CHESSMEN

"They don't keep this room so tidy as the other,' Alice thought to herself, as she noticed several of the chessmen down in the hearth among the cinders: but in another moment, with a little `Oh!' of surprise, she was down on her hands and knees watching them. The chessmen were walking about, two and two!

`Here are the Red King and the Red Queen,' Alice said (in a whisper, for fear of frightening them), `and there are the White King and the White Queen sitting on the edge of the shovel -- and here are two castles walking arm in arm..."

--Ch. 1: Through the Looking Glass

The challenge this week is again the brainchild of DT member Lynne-to use some aspect of the game of chess! You might want to use a checkerboard pattern, or feature a King, Queen, Knight or Castle (Rook), or some other aspect of the game we haven't thought of - we just need to be able to clearly see CHESS in your creation!

For my card I chose to use Darcy from the Victorian Beauties Collection of Digistamps by Simply Betty Stamps.  I printed out my chessboard background and Darcy onto glossy photo paper, and coloured with my promarkers, before cutting and adhering to a black card base.  To finish it off I created a label sentiment, and added some black and white card candy and pearls.

StampInsanity Challenge #32 - Think Pink!

In honour of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this week's StampInsanity Challenge, is to make a card 'Thinking Pink', with added kudos for using the Katie for a Cure image.
For my card i decided to try something a little different, and just printed out Katie's upper body; I then used some pink ribbon to frame Katie, with a jeweled brad to create the crossed ribbon effect.

Then i got crafter's block; I knew the card needed something else but i wasn't sure what.  I asked my fellow groovy girls, and as soon as 'pearls' were mentioned I got an idea.

So I added the sentiment 'Thnk Pnk' in pearls, I missed the 'i's' out for two reasons, one I like how it makes the sentiment sound very up to date, and text like.  I also didn't want to squash my words, and I didn't have alot of room for the work Think.

I'm really happy with the finished card now, just shows that sometimes it's a good idea to get other people's opinions, cos they can give you some great ideas.  Thanks Groovy Gurlz

As well as following the sketch, this weeks challenge includes a theme, choose one of the following themes, Halloween, Think Pink or Fall/Autumn.

In honour of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, i've chosen the Think Pink theme for my card..
I chose the Make a Wish image for my card, it seemed kind of appropriate as we are all wishing for a cure for cancer.  I used papers from the Piece of Cake paper pack by Dovecraft, aswell as some ribbon and a pink rose from my stash.

Oh, Alice! CHAPTER 35: Knock, Knock, Knockin' on Wonderland's Door

"Alice laughed so much at this, that she had to run back into the wood for fear of their hearing her; and when she next peeped out the Fish-Footman was gone, and the other was sitting on the ground near the door, staring stupidly up into the sky.

Alice went timidly up to the door, and knocked.

`There's no sort of use in knocking,' said the Footman, `and that for two reasons. First, because I'm on the same side of the door as you are; secondly, because they're making such a noise inside, no one could possibly hear you.' And certainly there was a most extraordinary noise going on within--a constant howling and sneezing, and every now and then a great crash, as if a dish or kettle had been broken to pieces.

`Please, then,' said Alice, `how am I to get in?'  ~Chapter 6, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

Have you ever felt like Alice?  Not sure which door, window, or keyhole will be opened or closed next?  Not sure which direction you're going but curiouser and curiouser about them all?

What a PERFECT opportunity to explore some new avenues, and walk through new doors we bring you at Oh, ALice this week.   Thats right!  Your challenge this week is to create a card or project using a Door, Gate, or Keyhole.  Now, you can also get creative and do a gatefold technique, etc.  As long as we can see it's a "Gatefold" or that there is a door, gate, or keyhole somewhere on your project!  How FUN is this?

The best part?  There's no time limit to play this week, so have fun and here's to opening lots of new doors in the future!

This is the front of my card for this week's challenge, and I have to say, I absolutely hate it!! It look's so childish, i do apologise.  I'm happy to say, I'm much happier with the inside...
The image is Sassy Witch Mina from the Halloween Victorian Beauties Collection from Simpy Betty Stamps, and i had so much fun colouring her in, love the expression on her face, tehe!!

I created the Keyhole Template using, Photoshop, printed it out on plain paper, then cut it out before tracing the aperture onto my cardstock.  I used a variegated orange card stock to create my card base, and the pop up.  I finished the inside off with some gorgeous orange and black spiderweb ribbon.

I had real fun with the inside of this card, and the outside, well that's a horror story, but you can't be happy with every card you make.  Hope you have time to play along with our challenge, and have more success than I did.
Have a great week

Fall into Fall with the Pixies...

The fall has started, it is getting colder and the leaves have such beautifull colors.
So the new challenge is

Create a card/project with a fall theme to it! Think leaves and warm colors, like deep browns, purples, reds...
For today's card I decided to use the adorable Harvest Mouse image from the new Leaves Collection. Such a beautiful image, and so much fun to colour.  I love working with autumnal colours, such a beautiful time of year, just a shame it doesn't last longer, all the leaves here have changed colour and alot of them have already fallen, so the poor trees will be bare again soon.

I found this lovely pumpkin paper when rummaging through my craft stash, and thought it would work perfectly with the Harvest Mouse image;  I used a coordinating piece of yellow paper to create a matt for my main image.  As the patterned papers was quite busy, I didn't want to overdo the embellishments, so I used some green prima flowers, and orange card candy centres.  The ticket sentiments were created by my very talented team mate Caz, and i think they finish my card off perfectly.

Thank you for visiting, and have fun playing along with our challenge.
Bye for now

Oh, Alice! - CHAPTER 34: A Mad Tea-Party

`And ever since that,' the Hatter went on in a mournful tone, `he won't do a thing I ask! It's always six o'clock now.'
A bright idea came into Alice's head. `Is that the reason so many tea-things are put out here?' she asked.
`Yes, that's it,' said the Hatter with a sigh: `it's always tea-time, and we've no time to wash the things between whiles.'
`Then you keep moving round, I suppose?' said Alice.
`Exactly so,' said the Hatter: `as the things get used up.'
`But what happens when you come to the beginning again?' Alice ventured to ask.
~Chapter 7, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

Your challenge this week is to explore things that could make up your tea-time activity. Use tea bag folding in the construction of your project. This is a great resource: Tea Bag Folding, they have some very nice simple instructions. Including the Flower Petal Fold which I used for this weeks card...

For my card I decided to take tea in the garden, with some rather unusual flowers.  The image I used is from The Octopode Factory all the images available there are from original drawings by Lily Chilvers. I have to say I love her style, and had so much fun colouring Alice in for this card.

Hopefully you'll feel inspired to try your hand at teabag folding, and take part in this week's Oh, Alice Challenge. The clock is ticking - don't be Late for TEA!

Simply Betty Challenge #4

Hello all!  Today we have a super fun challenge for you!  It's our monthly Scene It Challenge!  Very simple... create your project taking inspiration from the Scene in this picture:

It's Sally and Linus from It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!

I love the new Spooky Hallow Collection of stamps from Simply Betty Stamps, so this week's Scene It challenge gave me the perfect opportunity to combine a couple of these images together.  For my card i chose to use Damien and Spiderella to create me scene on a stair step card.

The basic construction of my card was very simple, I took a 6" square of card and scored it  at 1 1/4", 2 1/2" and 4 1/4".  I then took some orange vellum and cut a circle out of it for my backdrop behind Damien.  I then coloured both my images with promarkers, and cut them out.  I then adhered Damien and the orange circle to the back step of the card, and Spiderella to the front.  I think my favourite thing about this card is how cool it looks when lit from behind, Damien and Spiderella create quite a spooky scene then.

StampInsanity Challenge # 30 - Trick It or Treat It with the Devil Dolls

The challenge this week coincides with the release of the Devil Dolls digis.  Trick It… Or Treat It is our theme, brought to you by magnificent Margie Cortina! Naughty or Nice?  Sweet or Sour?  Create a Halloween card with a decidedly Tricky or Treaty feel!  Heck – add some candy treats, even! :)   This challenge is one for everyone!

Are those Devil Dolls delicious or what?  Got to love them..

I got to play with the divine Angelika which in itself was a treat, but to go with the trick or treat theme, I decided to use some of my favourite tricks (techniques).  So here we have an easel card, with a ribbon frame, and my image is coloured with promarkers.  I also used one of my current favourite bits of crafty stash, sequin waste, I love how it adds texture and sparkle to my card.

Now it's time for you to hop on over to the StampInsanity Blog, as there is lots for you to see, including a showcase of gorgeous cards from all of the Groovy Gurlz, that includes some fresh faces.  You may notice it say's I am leaving the Groovy Gurlz, but I decided I wasn't ready to check out of the Asylum yet, so I've been given my old pink padded room back, so glad to be here too :)

Start hoppin' along and get to know:

Morticia
Spiderella
Fez
Damien
Devina
and
Cassandra!

So I was feeling a little devilish and decided to use Devina for my card today, but one is never enough, so I flipped Devina and printed her out twice to get double the fun & trouble!!

My card is fairly simple, some scraps of coloured papers, some sequin waste(love the texture this gives) a few staples and some foam pads.  My devilish duo are coloured with promarkers, then cut out and adhered to a circle of white card which i added to my card base with foam pads to give some dimension.

I may add a sentiment to this card at a later day, but i'm not too sure at the moment.

Now off you go to hop along!

Have a Spooky Hallow-ing good time!

Canadian Nickel Scrap’n “Little Hop of Horrors” Halloween Blog Hop

You should be just crawling in from Shelly's gruesome project.  You've found yourself here, hopefully your journey hasn't been to scary so far, as you've still a few stops to go.

For my card today I decided to pay a visit to The Greeting Farm and have some fun with some of their Halloween digital images.  I've used three of the characters from the Spooktacular Digiset along with HalloPumpkin and HalloSkeleton

I created an A5 project in photoshop and copied my images into that, then I stretched and resized some of them, aswell as arranging them into a group.  I added a cityscape background using a custom shape, and then printed my project out.
I trimmed the image, and adhered it to a blue textured cardstock, I then coloured all the images with promarkers .

So What would a Halloween Blog Hop be without some Treats?  You could be the lucky person that gets the following Halloween Treats.

Simply Betty Stamps  Set of 6 Halloween Digi’s
