This weeks challenge over at Eureka Stamps Challenge Blog is all about Sweet Hearts, making cards for your sweet hearts, using hearts on your cards, basically it about sharing the love.
My husband loves monkeys and gorillas, so when i saw this super cute Gorilla with Bananas I knew it was the perfect choice for this card. I decided to be brave when colouring this image, and used the 'no black lines' technique; I think it worked really well with this images. To accompany my image I couldn't resist the 'I'm Bananas over you' sentiment.
After colouring and fussy cutting my image, I decided to emphasize the bananas by using lots more yellow in my card. I die cut a heart out of yellow card stock, then embossed it and added some distress ink to show off the embossing, and tone down the yellow a little. My background papers came free with a craft magazine a while ago and were hiding in my stash along with the pearlescent yellow card stock I used for my card base. I printed my sentiment and die cut it before layering it onto my yellow heart. To embellish my card I decided on some nice polka dot ribbon for the bottom of the card, and some heart shaped buttons.
I hope you like my Sweet heart card, if you want to see more beautiful love inspired cards, hop over to the Eureka Stamps Challenge Blog to check out the beautiful creations from the rest of the Design Team.
