Growing in Unity, Day Two - Planner Girl

Good Day, Welcome Back, It's Day 2 of my Growing in Unity week and I've a couple of cards to share with you today.  I've used stamps from the Moments Like This Kit, Planner Gal:Don't Be Perfect and So this is Love Set.

The Moments Like This Kit is full of gorgeous stamps, and one that really grabs your attention is the beautiful tiled background stamp, so I decided to use that in a couple of different ways for today's cards.

My first card is really quite simple, I stamped the Tiled Background, 'She Laughs' and Planner Gal stamps onto white card stock with Toffee Versafine Ink.  I used Prima Watercolor Confections:Complexions to paint both images, then added some shading with coloured pencils and highlights with a White Gel Pen.

I used a piece of Kraft Card for my card blank, I then matted my background image onto some Gold Pearlescent card.  Finally I added my Planner Gal.

I was tempted to add some sequins to this card, but decided to keep it very clean and simple.

For my second card I wanted a bit more texture and layers.  So I stamped the Tile Background with clear ink onto Blue Card stock twice and added White Embossing Powder. Once cooled I fussy cut the images out then cut them in half, one vertically and the other horizontally.  I used a piece of White Card Stock for my Card blank, I added my cut images to the card aligning them with the edges of the card.
I then stamped the Tile Background using Majestic Blue Versafine Ink onto White Card Stock and coloured it with Blue coloured pencils.  I used the same ink and pencils to stamp and colour the Planner Gal.  I fussy cut both of these elements out.  I added the Tile Background to the centre of the card before adding some cheesecloth (dyed blue with Brushos), I then added the Planner Gal and my sentiment.

To finish this card I added some paper roses (dyed blue with Brushos) and some blue dew drop emebellishments.

I love all the details in the Tile Background stamp, and had lots of fun colouring it, I kept the colouring very simple on both cards, so look forward trying different colour combinations on it at a later date.

That's all from me for today, I hope you'll come back tomorrow to see my next creations. Please leave a comment so I can put you into the draw for $20 Gift Certificate from Unity stamps at the end of the week.
Enjoy the rest of your day
Bye for now

Both are pretty cards. The shading is so good on the tiles of the first one, that I thought you had added something to make them dimensional.

Love the background very much! Both cards are gorgeous. I have a BG cover plate and it leaves pieces just like this - I want to try it with different pattern papers like how your first card looks. It's so very pretty! Thanks again for the wonderful inspiration!

Both of these cards are incredible! The background piece has so much potential. It’s going to have to come to my craft room.
