Fintastic Junk Journal Pages with ColourCraftLtd

Good Day All, Today I'd like to share with you a couple of pages I've created in a Mini Junk Journal for the ColourCraftLtd Design Team, This is also my project for Day 2 of the #100 Day Project.  I've created a wonderful background with Bubble Wrap and Brusho Crystal Colour Powders, I've also coloured my stamped images with Brusho Crystal Colour Powders.

Here's my Journal Pages;

Here's how I created my pages.

My first step was to create my background.  I'm turning a little mini brochure into a Junk Journal, so my first step was to give the pages a coat of White Gesso.  Once the Gesso was dry, I sprinkled on Brusho Crystal Colour Powders in Scarlet, Gamboge and Turquoise.

I then took a piece of Bubble Wrap slightly bigger than my pages, and sprayed it with water. then placed it over my pages and pressed it down.

I then removed the Bubble Wrap and left my pages to dry.

I then stamped my images with Stazon ink onto Watercolour Paper and left them to dry. I used Mermaid Anya, along with Ian from the Dress Up set, and the Fish and sentiment from the Down by the Pond set.  These are all from The Greeting Farm, I'm sorry to say they are all retired images, so you might not be able to get hold of them, but you'll find lots more gorgeous images on their website.

Next I started to colour the Mermaid, adding water with a brush to her face, arms and torso.  I then sprinkled on some Sandstone Brusho Crystal Colour Powders, and spread it around with my brush.  I then dabbed the image with a piece of Kitchen Towel to take off the excess water, and get a nice soft skin tone.

I then used the same process to add colour to the Little Boys skin, followed by another layer on the Mermaid, until I was happy with the skintone.

Using the same process I coloured the Boys hair in Gamboge, and the Fish in a mixture of Gamboge and Orange. Whilst this dried, I coloured the Mermaid Tail, Boys shorts and Outfit with Sea Green, and used a little Violet on the Mermaids Top.

After leaving the images to dry completely, I used the same process to colour the Mermaids Hair.  I left the images to dry for quite a while as I was using a very strong colour for the Mermaids Hair and Didn't want to risk getting onto other parts of the images.  I used Alizarin Crimson for the Mermaids Hair, and added a little of it to the Fish for shading.

Once dry I fussy cut the images, and added some black ink to the edges of each image.  I then glued the images to my pages.  To finish the pages, I added some black ink around the page edges; followed by some doodling around the edge of the images, pages and some of the circles.

Here's some close ups of the finished pages;

I had so much fun creating these pages.  The Bubble Wrap creates such a wonderful background and is so quick and easy, I created quite a few pages at the same time, just adding more water and colour to the Bubble Wrap before adding it to my paper. Using the water on selected areas of my images and then sprinkling the powders on was a great technique, and as long as you make sure to let it dry between each stage you get a lovely coloured image with no bleeding of colour.

I love how you can let the Brushos create a fun background on their own, and then control how they work to colour a precise image.  Such a fun versatile product, and a little goes a very long way, so you can experiment and play without worrying about wasting your precious powders.

That's all from me for today, I hope you've enjoyed seeing how my project came together.
Have a wonderful day
Bye for now
