Oddball Art Stamps Blog Challenge - Life in Tehnicolour - Part 2

Today I'd like to share with you a couple of pages in my Art Journal that'  I've created for the latest challenge over at the Oddball Art Stamps Challenge Blog.

We've changed the rules so now you don't have to play along with the challenge theme, but if you do and win you get an extra prize.

Our theme this month is 'Life in Technicolour', and you can interpret this however you wish, but we'd love you to share with us you an explanation of your interpretation, if it's not obvious.

You may remember the double page spread I did in my Art Journal, where I layered lots of different colours of Acrylic paint, using my fingers, an old credit card and some bottle tops to make all the shapes.

Here are the two pages in full;

Here's how they look in my Art Journal, after a cut a section out to use for the ATC backgrounds.

So for today's post I decided to finish off this double page spread; I didn't actually do anything else to the Acrylic painted pages, but worked on the following pages, where you can see the collaged background.

I wanted to tie both sets of pages together, so that as you flick through the Journal the cut away section makes sense.

I used two images for this project, Josie and the Butterflies image #207 and Purdy Butterfly image #164.  Before printing my images I flipped image #164 and saved a copy of it. I then printed my images, printing Purdy twice, so I had her facing in both directions.  I then fussy cut Josie, and fussy cut the wings from the other two print outs.  I then coloured my images with ProMarkers and adhered the wings to Josie with a little glue before deciding where on my page she was going to go.

I added my Butterfly Girl to the Journal with some Gloss Gel Medium, along with some Butterflies I'd punched out of foiled paper.  Once dry I added some tiny gems to the butterflies bodies.

To Finish my page I added some Distress Crayon around the edge of the pages, and blended it with a little water.

As you can see when the page is closed, you can't see the Butterfly Girl, just the Butterfly Punchies.
