Today I'd like to share with you an Art Journal Page I've created for the latest challenge over at the Oddball Art Stamps Challenge Blog.
We've changed the rules so now you don't have to play along with the challenge theme, but if you do and win you get an extra prize.
Our theme this month is 'A Sky Full of Stars', and you can interpret this however you wish, but we'd love you to share with us you an explanation of your interpretation, if it's not obvious.
Here is my project;
For my project I've used Sally's Stars image#292. I coloured her with Alcohol Markers before adding her to my page, and then added some details with Faber Castell PITT Pens, coloured pencils, black fineliner and white gel pen.
To Create my Journal page background I firstly added a layer of Blue Acrylic Paint. I then stenciled Stars with the Blue Paint, and White Gesso, I did this a couple of times until I was happy with the layers. I also used a tiny star cookie cutter embellishment dipped in White Gesso to add some smaller stars.
Once my background was dry, I added some colour to the Stars with Faber-Castell PITT Pens, and some Fluorescent Yellow Acrylic Paint. I added more of the Fluorescent Yellow Paint around the canvas to give the impression of the stars glowing, and the light catching in Sally.
For my sentiment I used my Dymo Label Maker with some Black Tape. I added this to the largest star on the background along with the words' 'put it in your pocket', I then added the words 'save it for a rainy day' to the bottom right hand corner of the page. At this point I added a doodled frame around my page, sentiment and some of the stars with black fineliner and white gel pen.
