It's time for a new challenge over at the More Mixed Media Challenge Blog. As always our theme is 'Anything Goes' with an optional colour addition, this month we would like to see Bright Colours on your project.
Grab your Sunglasses, Here's my project;
I had a real blast creating this very bright canvas. I used a retired image from Sassy Studio Designs called 'Flash Dance', she's coloured with Letraset Tria and Promarkers. Before I forget, make sure you buy any images you have on your wishlist at Sassy Studio Designs before the 31st August, as that is when the store is due to close.
For the background on my canvas I took some tissue paper with coloured foil circles on it and glued it to a 6 x 4 inch canvas board. Then using some Tim Holtz stamps and Stazon ink I added some checks and stars to the board.
Next I took some Fluroscent Acrylic Paint in Green and Yellow and put a thin layer of that over my background. I then added some Tim Holtz Tissue tape with muscial notes on it to be background along with my coloured image.
To seal my board and give a nice glossy finish I added a coat of Liquitex Gloss Super Heavy Gel, before leaving this to dry I sprinkled on various pink and yellow glitters along with some Stampendous Mica Flakes in Bright Pink and Lime.
At this point I have to admit my project looked like a very sticky sparkly mess, but once left over night to dry it came up beautifully. Here's a close up;
As you can see it dried to a lovely finish, showing all the layers of beautiful bright funky colours and textures.
