It's time for a new challenge over at the More Mixed Media Challenge Blog, so I'd like to share with you my DT projects for July's Challenge.
Our theme this months is Anything Goes with the option of Pastel colours,
Here's my project;
I used the gorgeous Chloe image from Oddball Art Co on my canvas. She is coloured with Letraset Tria and Promarkers, before being fussy cut.
For my background I took a 6 x 4 inch canvas board and layered on paper doilies in various pastel shades, before adding a thin layer of white gesso.
I then added my image along with some Baker's Twine for the Balloon string.
I then stamped an Andy Skinner sentiment stamp using Aubergine Memento ink, and then Midnight Blue Stazon. I edged the canvas with Aubergine Memento ink, before smugging it, then dipping into embossing powder. I then heat set the powder.
I then outlined my image and sentiment using Faber-Castell PITT Pens in Purple, Teal, Cornflower Blue, Light Grey and White, smudging the ink as I went along.
I then did some doodling in Uni Posca White Paint Pen around my sentiment and on the background. I added more Faber-Castell PITT Pen, before finishing the canvas with some Creative Expressions Metallic Gilding Wax in Decadent Teal.
I love how my finished canvas turned out; not quite as pale and pastel as I find imagined, but I love all the textures I've got on it, along with the gorgeous image.
