More Mixed Media Challenge #1 - Blue

Welcome to my first post as a member of the Design Team for the new challenge blog;

We will have a new challenge for you every month, the themes are nice and simple, so you can be as creative as you like. We would love to see your traditional paper/card layouts, mixed media work, project life spreads, digital layouts, scrap-booking, pocket letters and up-cycled projects.

Our theme is month is 'Blue'

Here's my project;
 I decided to create a Mixed Media Canvas with Calender for our challenge.  I used the gorgeous 'Stroke of Midnight' image from Sassy Studio Designs, which is the image for this month Progressive Challenge in the Sassy Studio Designs Facebook Group.

I took a 4 x 4 inch Pre-gesso'd Canvas and added a layer of pale and dark blue Faber Castell Gelatos, blended with a baby wipe, then left to dry.

I then fussy cut my image and adhered it to my Canvas with some White Gesso.  Once dry I added some more Gelatos to my background.

I then used Faber-Castell PITT pens to colour my image and add more depth to the background. Once I was happy with my image I coated it with a layer of Collage pauge to add a glossy seal, I also used the collage pauge to adhere my bling.
 Once this was dry, I went over the details of the clock face with a fine Faber-Castell PITT pen and added a few more details to my image.

Using a Metallic Gold Sakura Pen I added details to my background, before adding my Calender tab.

I used some Washi Tape to add a little colour to the Calender tab, and to decorate the edge of my canvas.
I had great fun working on this canvas and playing around with my Gelatos and PITT pens, something which I hope to do more of this year.

I hope you like my project and your inspired to have a play along with our challenge, we'd love to see your creations.

That's all from me for today, Don't forget to hop over to the More Mixed Media Challenge Blog to see the gorgeous creations from our very talented Design Team.

Bye for now
