I Love Ewe

Today I'd like to share with you a wee project I've made using some adorable stamps from The Isobel Craft Collection.

I had great fun altering this wee notebook. To create a base for my background I went over the front of the notebook with a White Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pen, but I could have just as easily used Gesso, that would have given the same finish.   I then scribbled on some Faber-Castell Gelato in Cotton Candy, and Pistachio which i blended together with a paper stump and then a damp brush so that when dry my background would permanent.

Using a Black Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pen - big brush, I stamped my image onto some white card stock.  I chose the adorable sheep and lamb stamp from the Sheep set of stamp by The Isobel Craft Collection.  I coloured the sheep and lamb using Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pens - big brush, in shades cold grey, blue and black, before adding the White Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pen.

Here's a close up of my image;
The Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pens are full of Indian Ink, which is wonderful to colour with and dries waterproof and light fast.  I love the White pen, as the ink dries semi opaque, so you can see your layers of colours through it and build up some nice depth to your white areas, and once dry you can add more if you want more opaque areas.

After colouring my sheep, I used the Cotton Candy and Pistachio Faber-Castell Gelatos to create my background, then once dry I drew an heart around the sheep and cut it out.  I edged the heart with Deep Scarlet Red Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pen(big brush) before applying some Watermelon Faber-Castell Gelato to soften the edge.  I then glued the heart to the front of the notebook.

I then stamped my sentiment first with Deep Scarlet Red Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pen(big brush) and then with the Black Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pen - big brush.  Before drawing a frame around the heart and the edge of the notebook.  I added some Watermelon Faber-Castell Gelato to soften the edge of the frame around the notebook.

To embellish my notebook I took two heart patterned washi tapes, and added a strip of each to the bottom right corner of the cover, before cutting one of the smaller hearts out of the tape and sticking it above the lamb. The finishing touch for this notebook, was some red grosgrain polka dot ribbon tied around the binding rings of the notebook.

I had a wonderful time playing with all of these products, it was the first time I'd used them all in a finished project, and I have to say they are such fun and so easy to work with.  The Faber-Castell PITT pens and Gelatos are wonderful quality, lovely bright colours and a little goes a long way.  The Sheep stamps from The Isobel Craft Collection are not only adorable, but wonderful quality, nice deeply etched photo-polymer stamps, they are quite thick too, so very easy to handle and transfer from their acetate sheet to your stamping block and back again without any fear of tearing.  I'm looking forward to sharing my next project using them with you.

You can get your hands on these wonderful stamps either by visiting Sophy's Etsy Store, or The Isobel Craft Collection Facebook Page.  You can get lots more wonderful crafty goodies from The Isobel Craft Collection Monthly Papercraft Event, the next one being the Funky February Online Papercraft Event on 22nd & 23rd February.
