It's my pleasure to share with you today my first creation of 2015. I decided to make myself a calender for my craft room, and chose the gorgeous 'Darkness Unchained' by Charmaine Flannery from Sweetpea Stamps as my focal point. Such a beautiful image, I never get bored looking at it;
To create my calender I took some Black Card along with some purple plain and patterned papers, a calender tab, Silver Mirri Card which I die cut with a Hexagon/ChickenWire Die, a mix of paper flowers, assorted gems, pink ribbon and some silver corner embellishments.
The First thing I did was colour my image with a mix of Letraset Tria and Promakers, with the addition of some white gel pen, and a gold metallic pen for the cross.
Here's a close up of the coloured image;
I layered my image onto some purple and black card before adding some silver decorative corner embellishments I then took two sheets of black card and sandwiched a piece of pink ribbon between the two to act as my hanger. I then added some of the purple card to my background, before adding the silver die cuts and patterned papers which I'd found in my stash. I then added my image and my calender tab.
I then decided to add lots of bling and flowers, I kept a very limited colour palette of black, silver and dark pink/purple with a few splashes of green to tie everything together.
The finished calender is now hanging on my craft room wall for me to admire whilst i craft. I do hope you all like it as much as I do.
You can find the image and lots more beautiful images by Charmaine Flannery in both Rubberstamp and Digital Format over at the Sweetpea Stamps Store. Don't forget to visit the Sweet Pea Stamps Blog to see the gorgeous creations from the rest of our very talented design team.
