Good Morning All, It's my turn to share with you my project featuring the beautiful 'Archway Angel' by Karen Middleton available at Sweet Pea Stamps. It's variations week, so the whole Design Team has been using the same image, and here is my interpretation;
I coloured this gorgeous image with a mixture of Letraset Tria and Promarkers, in shades of Neutral and Cool Greys and Sunshine Yellows. I initially coloured the Angel with shades of Neutral Greys to give me an idea of where my shadows were falling, I then proceeded to create my rays of light, using the long strokes of colour all radiating from the same point. I then added more shading until i was happy with the depth of both colour and tones.
For this card I wanted to create a softer feel than with most of my other cards, so using a square card blank, I added a layer of silver embossed textured paper, with a large round doily over the top.
I layered my image onto a piece of yellow card stock and added my sentiment. At this point my card still looked a little stark, so I pulled together a mix of yellow and cream flowers, butterfly stickers and textured gems to embellish my card.
I'm really pleased with how the finished card turned out, I love the grouping of the flowers and embellishments, something i tend to struggle with, so I'm glad to see my technique is improving.
That's all from me for today, make sure you check out Karen Middleton's full range of images over at the Sweet Pea Stamp Store, you'll find another version of this image with a background which is really beautiful. Don't forget to visit the Sweet Pea Stamp Blog to see the other variations of this gorgeous image, they are all magnificent.
Thank you for visiting with me,
Bye for now
