Today sees a new challenge over at Cute Card Thursday, and it is being sponsored by Rick St. Dennis, which gave me the opportunity to be Guest DT. A chance I jumped at, after all who doesn't like a cute card now and again.
The theme for the challenge is 'Circles' so time to embrace all things round and curvy to create some circular cuteness.
Here's my creation;
I used the super cute 'Sugar Plum Fairy Mouse' image for my project.
This pretty wee fairy is coloured with Letraset Tria and Promarkers, along with a little white gel pen, and some sakura stardust for a bit of glitter on her wings and wand.
I decided to create one of my favourite styles of card, an easel card, I love how quick and simple they are too make, and this one was even quicker, as I used an easel card blank from Creata, so no need for measuring. The card blank has a lovely scalloped edge with semi circular cut outs, but to make this a little fancier I used a Tonic circle die to cut the centre out, I then added a blue circle of card behind my die cut to create a pretty but simple background for my fairy. So as not to waste any card, I cut a smaller decorative circle out of the remaining card, and used that to add my sentiment. The sentiment is a rubber stamp from The Greeting Farm's Hello-Go-Round set of stamps (now retired). To embellish my card I added a few pearls around the top and base of the card to tie in with the 'circles' theme and add a little bling.
My colour choices for this card, are not necessarily what I would go for when creating a cute card, but I wanted to challenge myself, and have a go at Rick's Personal Challenge, which is to use a Rick St. Dennis image and create a project using Red, White and Blue. Of course i'm not eligible for the challenge prize, as I'm lucky enough to be on Rick's EDT, but you've still got time to join in his challenge, just create your project, add a picture of it to the Rick St. Dennis Fans and Friends group on Facebook, and email a copy of the picture directly to Rick.
That's all from me for now, but don't forget to pop over to Sparkle and Glitter the Rick St. Dennis EDT Blog, where you can see some more cute creations by the EDT for this challenge.
Thank you for visiting with me,
Bye for now
