There is always a Silver Lining with Premium Craft Brands

It's Sunday again and time for us to grab our Pan Pastels, Graph'It Markers and other awesome products from Premium Craft Brands and have a bit of creative fun with the Premium Craft Brands Pan Pastel UK Challenge Blog.

Your challenge if you choose to accept it is 'Anything Goes', so create whatever you like just have fun and link up to the challenge post to be in with a change of winning some Premium Craft Brands Goodies.

The Design Teams challenge theme this week is 'Silver Linings' so here's what I came up with;

As soon as I saw the challenge theme I thought 'Every Cloud has a Silver Lining', so set about finding an image to work with that tied in with that wonderful sentiment.  I came across the beautiful 'Raining Love' image by Saturated Canary on the CD that came with the latest copy of Complete Cardmaking.  I figure if every cloud has a silver lining then some of them must produce silver rain.  So I set about colouring my image with a mix of Grey Graph'It Markers;  I used Cool Greys for the Hair ,Skin and Boots on my image, and a Green Greys and Neutral Greys on the Umbrella and outfit.  I used Princess Rose for this pretty girls lips and the hearts, along with some of the rain.  I also use the Silver Graph'It Shake Pen to add more rain and a little sparkle to the pink areas and her eyes.

I then went about creating my foggy/rainy atmosphere, using Dark Paynes Grey, Neutral Gray, and Permanent Red Tint Pan Pastels, to give a cloudy foggy feel to my image.  I also added a little Silver Metallic Pan Pastel to continue the sparkly theme.  Once happy with my background I sealed it with a good spray of extra strong hair spray and matted and layered the image onto some grey mirri board and pale pink card.  I matted and layered a 2014 calender onto scraps of the same cardstock to add below my image.

To create the base of my calender I took two sheets of black card stock; one I put aside to use as the back of my calender and the other I sponged on Silver Metallic Pan Pastels until i'd created the subtle sparkly effect i wanted.  I sealed this background, before taking a piece of black organza ribbon and sandwiching it between my two pieces of black card stock to create the calender base.  I then adhered my image and the calander to the background.  Adding a few dark silver/grey gems to finish it all off.
