Easy as 1, 2, 3 with Delicious Doodles

Its time for a new challenge over at the Delicious Doodles Challenge blog.  This week's theme is super easy, as it is a:

"1, 2, 3 Recipe"
1 x Image
2 x Different Embellishments
 3 x Designer Papers

My 1 image is Cross with Roses
My 2 embellishments are organza ribbon and a metal word sticker
My 3 Papers are two different K&Co Yellow patterned papers, and one MME Green patterned paper.

I coloured my image with a mix of Letraset Tria and Promarkers, before trimming it to fit my piece of yellow card stock.  I used a Martha Stewart Punch around the Page set of punches to create my heart frame, before weaving some organza ribbon through it.  I added another piece of yellow card stock to a white card base, before adding my yellow patterned papers.  Using the second yellow paper I created a border for the middle of the card and gave it a heart punched edge.  I then added my green patterned paper before layering a strip of yellow card stock onto it. I then added my layered image along with the metal word 'hope' sticker.

I'll be sending this card to a family friend who recently lost her husband, here's hoping it brings her a little comfort.

Thank you for visiting with me today,
Have a Blessed Weekend

Anything Goes at 613 Avenue Create sponsored by Rick St. Dennis

There is a new Anything Goes Challenge over at 613 Avenue Create today, and I am delighted to be the GDT again.  The challenge is sponsored by Rick St. Dennis, so the DT created some beautiful projects featuring some of Rick's gorgeous images.  For my card I used Isabella Dance Recital, isn't she pretty. I coloured her with a mix of Letraset Tria and Promarkers before fussy cutting her out.

I decided to create a spring card, to create a little more movement to my project and really show Isabella off.  Using some lilac netting I created a tutu effect on my border piece which I punched with a heart punch and added ribbon and gems before adding to my card.
I used a sentiment from my craft stash and added some of the hearts from the border punch waste to frame my sentiment. I added a few more gems just to finish the card off.

I've had a fun week creating with images by Rick, and wanted to share with you a couple more cards featuring some of his new images.  Let me introduce Kismet;
Rick set us all a colour challenge with this beautiful lady, and you can see all the EDT's beautiful variations over on Rick's Blog.  My challenge was to give her brown hair and a suitably coloured outfit.  I chose blue for her outfit as I thought she'd work beautifully with papers from the Basic Grey Marrakesh paper pad.

My final card for today's post features Pirate Natja, named in honour of Nataliya one of my very talented fellow EDT members;
Rick asked me to colour Pirate Natja in pastel shades, and this is what I came up with. Isn't she beautiful, you can see her in lots of other colourways over on Rick's Blog.

Want to win some of Rick's gorgeous images? Then why not join in the challenge at 613 Avenue Create, you've a week to create something, and with the Anything Goes theme, you've got no excuse, as any creation with be perfect.

Thanks for visiting with me today, Enjoy the rest of your weekend

Some Whimsy Love and Spring/Summer Promarkers

Today I'd like to share with you a fun wee card featuring the beautiful 'One Heart' image by Marika Collins available at the Whimsy Stamps Store.  Some of you may have been lucky enough to grab her as a freebie last month, for those who didn't she's available in store now. My sentiment is from the new 'Bingo Card and Sentiments' Rubber stamp set.

This was the perfect image for me to try out my Spring/Summer Limited Edition Promarkers, that arrived earlier this week. If you've not got any Promarkers then this is a lovely set to start off with, full of bright cheerful colours, but also contains a couple of lovely pale skin tone colours, along with a blender pen. A great set to play and experiment with.

You'll find lots of wonderful new images and sentiments to tempt you in the 'New Products' Section of the Whimsy Store, they've just released a new batch of rubber this week, so make sure you check them out along with all the awesome digital products too, for when you just can't wait for Mr Mailman to arrive.

Are you feeling lucky?

I hope your all feeling very lucky and blessed this St Patrick's Day.  I've got a rather Green card to share with you today, featuring a beautiful image by a very talent artist who I am very very lucky to be on his Elite Design Team; I'm talking about Rick St. Dennis of course;

This is Isabella Bunny Slippers, all warm and toasty in her favourite PJ's with her favourite Teddy Bear ready for a night of wonderful dreams;  I wonder what magical lands she's visit tonight!

Isabella is coloured with a mix of Letraset Tria and Promarkers, and was the matted and layered onto some yellow and green card stock, before I added some decorative staples.  I used a star embossing folder to emboss a piece of yellow and green card, before going over them both with metallic rub on creme.  To finish my card I added a couple more decorative staples along with some green star gems.  My sentiment is some mini letter tiles that have been hiding in my stash for quite a while, they work perfectly for this card,  I especially like how they echo the colour of Isabella's Teddy Bear.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges;
613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes with a twist - Optional St Patrick's Day or Green.
Charisma Cardz - Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
Belli Challenge - St Patrick's Day/Green
Ruby's Rainbow - Spring Colours of Yellow and Green
The Sisterhood of Crafters - Make them Green with Envy

Thank you for visiting with me today, Sending you all love and blessings

Delicious Doodles Challenge: Angels

It's time for a new challenge over at Delicious Doodles Challenges, and this week it's a lovely theme, one you'll all find really easy to play along with;

Our Challenge theme is 'Angels'

As soon as I saw the challenge theme I knew which of Teri's awesome images I wanted to use;
This beautiful image is called 'Angel with Baby' and was a joy to colour.  I coloured my image with a mix of Letraset Tria and Promarkers, with the addition of some Sakura Glue Pen and Glamour Dust Fine Glitter.

This would make a very nice sympathy card, but personally I'd give it to some who has just had a baby, to me the Angel is giving the baby a last wee check before handing it over to its parents who will love and care for it forever. And of course the Angel will forever be watching over the baby along with it's parents.

Now why don't you hop over to the Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog to see the angelic creations from the rest of the design team, and to get full details on how you can join in our challenge, and win yourself some beautiful images.

Movie Magic Monthly Challenge #2 - Twilight + A Delicious Announcement!!

It's time for Challenge # 2 over at Movie Magic Monthly and our Movie choice for this month's challenge is 'The Twilight Saga';

We'd like you to create a project based on Twilight or any of the other Movies in the Saga. All we ask is that you have fun and create a new project for our challenge, other than that Anything Goes!

I have to admit I've not seen the Twilight Films, and I've only read half the first book, tehe!! So this isn't a movie I know that well, but I've got a rough idea of the story.  Given a choice between Team Edward and Team Jacob, I'd have to go for Team Jacob, got to like a bit of rough, and in my world Vampires don't sparkle or shine lol!

For my card I used the beautiful Luna La Lupa image from Delicious Doodles.  I have to admit i've a very soft spot for Teri's images, so you can imagine my delight when she offered me a place on her DT.  So I'm very happy and honoured to announce that I am now a very proud member of the Delicious Doodles Design Team.  So expect to see lots more of Teri's beautiful images featured on my blog.

Talking of beautiful images, Teri has a 'Name the Image' competition going on at the moment, so if you can think of an appropriate name for this beauty;
hop over to the Delicious Doodles Blog to find out how you can win her.

That's all from me for today, Don't forget you've got until the 9th April to link your Twilight inspired creations to the Movie Magic Monthly Challenge Blog.

Alice in Wonderland Altered Box

Today I'd like to share with you a project i've been working on for a few weeks now.  It's for the first challenge over at Movie Magic Monthly, and it's an altered box.

I started off with the box my android tablet came in for Christmas, and I covered it with old book pages and mod podge;

I then painted the box with a watered down mix of acrylic paint.  Then I started to add my images;
 The Top features 'Alice in the Garden with Live Flowers' by Rick St. Dennis, coloured in Letraset Tria and Promarkers, as were all the following images.
 The Bottom features 'The Tweedles' and 'Mad Tea Party 2013' by Rick St. Dennis
 The inside features 'Falling Alice' and 'Cheshire Cat' by Rick St. Dennis
 One side features 'The Knave of Hearts' by Rick St. Dennis.
 The other side features 'The March Hare' by Rick St. Dennis.
 Here's a couple of alternative views of the box, so you can see the checkerboard effect I added to some of it using squares of black gloss card.
 This was such a fun project to work on, the basic altering of the box was very simple, just like being back at school lots of glue and sticking papers down.  I had a wonderful time colouring the Alice in Wonderland images by Rick St. Dennis, my only problem was deciding on which ones to use, as he has so many wonderful Alice inspired images to play with.  I think I might have to make another box soon.

I was a little worried as to whether the printer ink would run on my images, but the alcohol markers seem to set the ink and prevented it from bleeding when i adhered them to my project with mod podge. So now i'm no longer afraid of mixing digital images and mod podge.

I do hope you like my project, as I love it! However I won't have it for much longer, as I'm giving it away as the prize for our Alice in Wonderland Challenge at the Movie Magic Monthly Challenge Blog.  Want to win it?  You've still got 2 days to join in the challenge, all we ask is that it's a new project inspired by Alice in Wonderland.  I do hope you'll have time to play along.  We've another great challenge starting on March 10th.

GDT at 613 Avenue Create featuring Rick St. Dennis

Today I have the honour of being Guest DT over at 613 Avenue Create Challenge Blog, I get to represent Rick St. Dennis, and play along with his awesome images and this fun challenge.

It's Anything Goes as always with today's Optional Extra Challenge theme of Tic Tac Toe;

For my first card I used the beautiful 'Eve with Apple' image by Rick St. Dennis. Eve is coloured with a mix of Letraset Tria and Promarkers.  I used Bling, Green and Ribbon from the Tic Tac Toe options.

My second card, is one you may have seen before, but the message it conveys is very important to me, so worth me sharing it with you again;
The image is called 'We Care' and was a freebie back in October.  I coloured the awareness ribbons with the colours of Fibromyalgia UK.  The Tic Tac Toe Options used on this card were Brads or Eyelets, Free Choice - Patterned Paper being my choice, and Ribbon.  My patterned papers are by Basic Grey.

I do hope you'll pop over to the 613 Avenue Create Blog to see the beautiful creations from their DT, and to play along with the challenge.

8.A Shaped Card (not square or rectangle)
9. Fancy Edges
10. Brads or Eyelets

Here's my card for both challenges;
I used the beautiful Lady of the Roses image by Rick St. Dennis for my card. She's coloured with a mix of Letraset Tria and Promarkers, with the addition of a little metallic silver pen.

I wanted to make the image the focal point of my card, so kept the embellishments to a minimum, adding some organza ribbon and a purple rose to coordinate with the image.  My background is a piece of variegated aqua card stock, which echo's the background of my image, and helps showcase this beautiful lady.

I hope you'll be inspired to play along with both challenges, don't forget to hop over to the Sparkle and Glitter with Rick St. Dennis Blog and the Desert Island Crafts Challenge Blog to see some beautiful creations from some very talented ladies.
