New Colours and Anything Goes Challenge at Graph'It Markers Challenge blog.

It's Friday and time for a new challenge over at the Graph'It Marker Challenge Blog; this week we are showcasing the new colours that came out recently, so the DT was challenged to use all the new colours they have!!

The theme for you guys is a whole lot easier, it's 'Anything Goes', so grab those markers and an image or two and show us what you've got.
I chose the beautiful 'Fantasie' image by Rick St. Dennis MFA for my creation.  Such a gorgeous image, challenging yes, but it was great fun to colour.  The first thing i did was to colour each character within the image with the palest shade of the colour I had decided to use on each character.  This made it a lot easier to see what i was actually colouring, taking away the large mass of white paper, and making it look a lot less scary to colour.

I then started to colour each character individually.  Here's a picture of the half way stage.  You can see I still need to colour the Dragon and Fairy.

Here's a picture of the finished card, followed by the list of colours I used;
I used the following colours;
Fairy; 6110, 6130, 6290, 7105, 7110, 7115, 7119
Mermaid; 7119, 8220, 8240, 8280, 8290
Unicorn; 6120, 6130, 6140, 6175, 6185, 6290
Unicorn Hair; 5110, 5120, 5130, 5140, 6150, 6290
Dragon; 5210, 5215, 5245, 6290
Face; 6290, 7210, 7220, 7250, 8140, 8160, 8190
Hair; 6290, 8110, 8140, 8160, 8180, 8190

You'll find all the new colours available at Polkadoodles, here's a quick list of them;
5215 - Geranium
6175 - Amethyst
6290 - Granite - This one is awesome for adding dark shadows into your image, I used this on most of the characters of this image, and it really helps tie all the elements together.
7109 - Pigeon - I don't have this one yet, need to remedy that very soon!
7119 - Hurricane
8190 - Amazon
8290 - Olive.

To create my background, I used Pan Pastels in the following colours;
Permanent Red Tint
Violet Tint
Phthalo Green Extra Dark and Violet Extra Dark.
Along with an assortment of masks from my collection.

If your looking for images that are a little unusual, maybe for those difficult man cards we all need to make, then check out Rick St. Dennis's Zibbet Store, he's recently moved to Zibbet from Etsy, and now has the ability to list so many more images, and they are all in categories too, to make it nice and easy to navigate.  I nearly forgot to mention, Rick's images are all hand drawn, pen and ink creations, and are very affordable, the image I used for this card was $3.75 that's around £2.35, and that's one of his more expensive images.  So please visit his store, and check out his beautiful illustrations.

Now hop over to the Graph'It Marker Challenge Blog to see the beautiful creations from the rest of the Design Team, and to get full details or our challenge, and the lovely prize you could win.  We'd love it if you'd play along with us.

Thanks for visiting with me today
Have a wonderful day
