Our Theme this week is 'Cool Xmas Blue and Purple Polka Dots' I'm sure you'll agree, it's a very pretty combination.
Here my creation, a pretty wall hanging calender;
My image and papers are all from the Angelberry Christmas CD from Polkadoodles. You can also get this image as a beautiful clear stamp, she's called Angelberry Gift and comes with a lovely sentiment stamp, some snowflakes and a sprig of holly.
I used the following colours to colour my image;
Background - 7105, 7125, 7210, 0000
Skin - 4125, 4145, 4155, 4170, 5510
Hair - 3210, 3250, 3290
Fur - 6120, 6140, 6175, 9503
Coat and Hat - 9501, 9503, 0000
I printed a few of the papers from the CD and glued a sheet of purple polka dots and snowflake paper to a chipboard blank that i'd bought. I left the paper to dry, then trimmed it with a craft knife, before sanding the edges and adding some Silver Pan Pastel.
I cut strips of some of the other papers, and created a woven effect behind my image. My image is die cut with a Sizzix Framelits Die. I added a heart shaped doily along with some Snowflake and Star embellishments. The calender is also on the CD, so i simply printed it off and trimmed all the pieces to size before clipping it to some background paper with a couple of lilac mini pegs. To add a little more bling i added some dots of Petal Pink Liquid Pearls along with a few drops of Maimeri Glassy Gel Medium. To finish it all off I added some Purple lurex ribbon.
I was amazed at how quickly this project came together, and think I might make a few more as presents, I know my Mum is going to want this one as soon as she sees it!
