SNS Design Team Throwdown - August

The SNS DESIGN TEAM THROWDOWN  has moved to a blog... so more people can join in and vote for the entries without first becoming a member of the Smeared and Smudged forum
( although you are always welcome to become a member if you want too, more deets on the blog).

You can find the Design Team Throwdown HERE.

This month the challenge theme is OLD AND GREY, picked by the winners of July, QUOTH THE RAVEN. Congrats girls, you did a fantastic job.

I'm honoured to be part of the Airless Chambers Team representing the very talented Rick. St. Dennis.
I decided to alter a magazine file for my project.  My main aim was to create something that would look like old stone or rocks.

The first step of my project was to paint the magazine file, first with silver acrylic, I then added a layer of black acrylic using bubble wrap to apply my paint, followed by a layer of white acrylic using the same technique.

I then selected my images and coloured them with my Graph'It Markers, I used the Neutral Greys for the Castles and Ruins.

Side One - featuring Haunted Castles Ghostly Tower and Going Going Gone
.
Back - featuring the Skull Arch which is Exclusive to the Haunted Places 1 sheet of Rubberstamps drawn by Rick St. Dennis Exclusively for the Smeared Ink Rubber Club. I also used the Borne Aloft Mother of Dragon image.

Side Two - featuring Treason and The last of Mordred's Lair.

Front - featuring Frost Dragon 3.

I adhered all the images with PVA Glue, and then coated the whole magazine file with some Black Lava Acrylic Medium to add some final textures.  Here's a few close ups, so you can see the details of these wonderful images.

I hope you like my project as much as I do.  To see what the rest of the Airless Chambers Team created, head over to the Airless Chambers Blog to take a peek.  The challenges finishes tomorrow night and voting starts at the Design Team Throwdown Blog on Wednesday.  So please check out all the entries and cast your vote on Wednesday.

Thanks for visiting with me today
Bye for now
