Lord of the Rings Rick St Dennis Style..

Today I'd like to share with you a creation inspired by Lord of the Rings featuring the beautiful Galadriel image by Rick St Dennis MFA.  I made this card for the 'Lord of the Rings Vs Harry Potter' Challenge which is ongoing over at the Movie Magic Monthly Blog.  You'll find my card and more creations using Rick's images on the Sparkle and Glitter, the Rick St Dennis EDT Blog today.

As soon as I saw this image, I knew the scene I wanted to recreate on my card, so I found the appropriate quote and printed it out onto white card stock before die cutting it with one of the Arch Window Nestibilities dies.  In the scene Galadriel falls briefly under the spell of the Ring, and shows her fiercer side, changing from her usual serene appearance, and appearing in a blue magical haze.  With that in mind I went with a blue colour scheme for this card, colouring my image with Letraset Tria and Promarkers with the addition of some silver metallic pen.  I added Broken China Distress Ink to my embossed background panel, die cut quote and my card base before layering them all up.  Galadriel is adhered with foam pads to give a little more dimension to the card.

I love how this card turned out, very clean and simple, but still quite dramatic and really showcasing the beautiful image.

Thank you for visiting with me
Bye for now

Suzi, you have coloured this image beautifully... I keep looking at the folds on the dress and you've done a great job.
