Alice in Wonderland Altered Box

Today I'd like to share with you a project i've been working on for a few weeks now.  It's for the first challenge over at Movie Magic Monthly, and it's an altered box.

I started off with the box my android tablet came in for Christmas, and I covered it with old book pages and mod podge;

I then painted the box with a watered down mix of acrylic paint.  Then I started to add my images;
 The Top features 'Alice in the Garden with Live Flowers' by Rick St. Dennis, coloured in Letraset Tria and Promarkers, as were all the following images.
 The Bottom features 'The Tweedles' and 'Mad Tea Party 2013' by Rick St. Dennis
 The inside features 'Falling Alice' and 'Cheshire Cat' by Rick St. Dennis
 One side features 'The Knave of Hearts' by Rick St. Dennis.
 The other side features 'The March Hare' by Rick St. Dennis.
 Here's a couple of alternative views of the box, so you can see the checkerboard effect I added to some of it using squares of black gloss card.
 This was such a fun project to work on, the basic altering of the box was very simple, just like being back at school lots of glue and sticking papers down.  I had a wonderful time colouring the Alice in Wonderland images by Rick St. Dennis, my only problem was deciding on which ones to use, as he has so many wonderful Alice inspired images to play with.  I think I might have to make another box soon.

I was a little worried as to whether the printer ink would run on my images, but the alcohol markers seem to set the ink and prevented it from bleeding when i adhered them to my project with mod podge. So now i'm no longer afraid of mixing digital images and mod podge.

I do hope you like my project, as I love it! However I won't have it for much longer, as I'm giving it away as the prize for our Alice in Wonderland Challenge at the Movie Magic Monthly Challenge Blog.  Want to win it?  You've still got 2 days to join in the challenge, all we ask is that it's a new project inspired by Alice in Wonderland.  I do hope you'll have time to play along.  We've another great challenge starting on March 10th.

Thanks for visiting with me today
Bye for now
