A Hug from Whimsy Stamps

Time for me to share another creation featuring one of the awesome images from Whimsy Stamps; today I'm featuring 'Boy Hug's by LiaStampz. I love Lia's style of illustration, such fun quirky images, always full of character and guaranteed to make you smile.

I coloured Boy Hugs with a mix of Letraset Tria & Promarkers, using a couple of shades of blue to create my sky in the background; I simply scribbled some areas of blue leaving some white gaps and then added some aqua and more blue to give the impression of a sky full of fluffy white clouds.

To create my sentiment I using some plastic letter charms to spell the word 'Hugs' and tied them onto some paper ribbon, I then added this to my image before matting onto some pink card.  Taking inspiration from the colours of the letters and ribbon, I added some yellow cardstock behind a heart shaped doily, which I cut in half. I stuff one half to the back of my image along with the leftover paper ribbon.

My background layer is a piece of variegated green card with the other half of the heart doily stuck to it, along which some pink punchinella, washi tape and ribbon.  I added this layer onto a white card blank, before adding my image.

To finish my card I added some wooden buttons with pink gem centres, and a few more pink gems.

I love how this card turned out, the combination of the heart doily, punchinella, ribbon and wooden buttons gives it a romantic feel, but with a fun quirky edge. I love combining the different colours and textures to create something just a little different.  Hope you like my quirky card too

Thanks for visiting with me, and remember to come back on Friday when it's time for the Whimsy Stamps Digital Release Blog Hop, it's going to be fun, so don't miss out.

Bye for now
