A Spoon Full of Sugar

This week The Stamping Boutique is sponsoring A Spoon Full of Sugar, so I decided to play along.  The Challenge is nice and simple, it's a colour challenge, White + One other colour...
For my card I chose to use the 20/40 image from The Stamping Boutique.  This is such a fun image to work with, and can be coloured in so many different ways.  I decided to use shades of yellow on my card, colouring my image with a mixture of yellow Letraset Promarkers, and some Mustard Seed Distress Ink.

I used plain white card stock for my card base, and then cut a slightly smaller piece of card stock, which i embossing before applying Distress Ink.  I added my background layer to the card blank, then added my image with some foam pads for dimension.  I then added some Distress Ink to the edges of the card, before distressing a ticket sentiment, and adding it to my card.

The card turned out to be a little more distressed than I had envisaged, but I kind of like it; I love the bright yellow, so cheery, works so well with this image, and the texture from the embossing really adds some interest.

I love working with a limited colour palette, so this card was great fun to create, think i might try a few more monochromatic cards.

Thanks for visiting, and I hope you have time to join in the challenge too
