One of the great things about The Stamping Boutique is that Tracey loves to sponsor challenges, so as part of the DT I get to play along with any that take my fancy. Today's card is for this week's challenge over at Critter Sketch Challenge; a challenge blog i'd not come across before, but looks like fun. Their challenge this week is to create a card using a Fancy Fold; so I decided to make a Spring Card.
For my card I chose to use one of the newest additions to The Enchantment Line, a beautiful image called 'Thoughts'. I picked out some gold cardstock and orange vellum from my stash, with the intention of doing a rather monochromatic card with shades of orange, gold and yellow. I decided to start colouring the face with a nice orange and red combination, leaving lots of white paper to emphasise the light nature of the image. I then started on the hair with a red pencil, followed by orange for the next strands of hair, I then came up with the idea of rainbow hair, and I love how it turned out. I used Prismacolour Verithin Pencils for this project, which have a thinner, harder lead than the normal Prismacolour pencils.
To embellish my card I decided to add some pearls in the colours of the rainbow to compliment the rainbow hair. I added some orange vellum behind my image, and to the base of the Spring Card, to which I also added a Tim Holtz Ticket along with a couple of 3D Butterfly stickers.
I love the image I used, and can't wait to try out some different colour combinations on it. It really is a beautiful image to colour.
Thank you for visiting with me
Bye for now
