Desert Islands Crafters Challenge #6

It's time for a new challenge at Desert Islands Crafters Challenge, and this time it's a little different, it's not a previous winner or DT members Itinerary we are using, We decided to ask The Queen what items should be on the Itinerary to create a project to commemorate the forthcoming Royal Celebrations Here is what she chose;

The Queen's Itinerary

1. Red, White & Blue

2. Fairytale

3. Ribbon

4. Lace

5. Crown Jewels

6. Horse & Carriage

7. Stair Step Card

8. Castle

9. Prince Charming

10. Princess Bride

I have to admit, I love this list, who doesn't like to make pretty princess fairytale cards?  I decided to make a stair step card, as I love this fold, so simple but very effective, especially if you want to create a scene on your card, I followed the tutorial on Splitcoaststampers.com, although I made my card slightly wider at 7" instead of 5 1/2".

I used papers from Echo Park's Be Mine Collection, along with some silver card stock from my local paper mill.  I used Tiddly Ink's 'Castle in the Sky' image on the back step of the card, trimming away most of the cloud, so it looks more like a little hill.  I used AJ the Groom and Audrey the Bride from The Stamping Boutique for my Prince Charming, and Princess Bride.

I coloured my images with Letraset Promakers and Sakura Stardust Glitter pen, then cut them out before gluing them to the steps of the card.  I added a piece of pink organza ribbon to the middle step before adding the bride and groom.   I used an Echo Park Sentiment sticker on the bottom step of the card.  To finish my card off I scattered pink and clear gems in various sizes over the steps, and added some clear gems to the Bride's Tiara and Dress.

I hope you feel inspired to join in our challenge, which is open until midnight April 30th.
Thank you for visiting with me today
