So I was browsing through my Blog reader earlier and discovered the January Digi Day Challenge over at Some Odd Girl blog. I decided to play along, as I have a couple of there freebie images (which are awesome), and I love this months challenge, a Valentine or Love Card with no Pink or Red.
For my card I used Mae with Bouquet, I printed her out twice, cut her whole body out once, and then die cut her head and upper body with a circle die. I love the Spotlight Technique for highlighting what you want to be the focal point of your card, and decided it would work very nicely with this image.
I then picked out a patterned paper from my stash, this is a Making Memories one from an 8x8 paper pack, the edges of which where already cut in a big scalloped circle. I trimmed a piece of this paper, and stuck it to a light turquoise/green card blank. Then using some kraft card, I created a fence for the background, and my sentiment.
I then coloured Mae to compliment the papers I had chosen, stuck it all together, and added a white felt cloud, and some white shaped eyelets and turquoise brads.
I love how this turned out, and Love the fact that everything for it was already in my stash. I want to try and use my stash more this year, rather than buying new goodies.
Hope you like it,
Thanks for visiting
