Christmas in July with the Pixie Dust Studio

And so begins our CHRISTMAS IN JULY!!!

All month Pixie Dust Studio will be bringing you Christmas in July.  This week we have a great sketch for you to use.  The twist is that your card should be Christmas themed.

For my card this week i decided not to use a Christmas themed image, but to alter one of my favourite Pixie Dust Images....

Yes, I used the adorable Alice from the Down the Rabbit Hole Collection, I also used the party hat and present from Party with Wink from the Oh Happy Day Collection.  Giving Alice a makeover was very simple,  I had to  cut around her arm and hand which has the tea cup in it, and slot in my present image; I also removed the bow from her hair and replaced it with the party hat.  I chose papers from the Naughty and Nice Christmas Paper Pack by Papermania, I love this non traditonal colour scheme.  I found a 'You're Invited' sticker in my stash and used that for my sentiment, i created a little frame around it with green and pink gems.  To finish my card off i added 3 pink heart nailhead, i recently discovered that these have glue on the back of them, and all i had to do was apply heat to them to melt the glue, so i treated myself to a heat applicator tool for gems and rhinestones.  I highly recommended this tool it made it so simple to attatch the hearts, and will be wonderful for other heat activated/iron on embellishments.

So are you ready to get into the Christmas Spirit, and make your first Christmas Cards of 2010!!  If you are then why not try our sketch challenge, and you may be the lucky winner of a Pixie Dust image of your choice.

Thank you for visiting with me, take care
