The Greeting Farm Battle continues...

Yes it's week two of The Greeting Farms Battle of the Design Teams, and I'm delighted to say that the Time Travellers made it through; Thank You to everyone that voted for us, and a special thanks to Sony for creating a brilliant card.

This week's challenge was to create an easel card; sounds easy, and yes the basic easel card is very easy; but then you have to think about your competition, with such a broad theme, the competition is going to be unbelieveable, oh and it is!!

The Time Traveller's card this week was created by, Me!!, I'm very honoured that the rest of the team liked my card so much that they voted for it to be our team entry.  So please Vote for our card, I really don't want to be responsible for our team leaving the competition.

I had real fun with this card, once i came up with the idea.  I watched Coraline for the first time a couple of weeks ago and loved it.  Her outfit reminded me of the gorgeous Rain Rain digital stamp by The Greeting Farm so i knew with a little altering i could make my very own Coraline.

I used one of the pretty houses from the My House set of stamps for Coraline's House. I used some blue vellum from my stash for the night sky, and for the background on the base of the card.  I punched a circle out of a scrap of white card, and another from the blue vellum to create my moon and button (I used my cropadile for the buttons' holes) and I layered these behind my night sky, I then used a pale blue pencil to highlight the moon and some clouds.  I drew the little hill and steps to Coraline's House on a piece of white paper, and then coloured with my promarkers, and adding some detail with a black fine liner pen.

For the base i kept it fairly simple, I love the button key from the film, so created my own using some textured black card, I also created some black buttons.  On the key i added the quote 'Be Careful What You Wish For!!' from the film.  The key and buttons are raised on foam pads, this creates some lovely shadows, and stops the card front form sliding closed.

To finish my card, i drew Coraline's rag doll, and coloured her with promarkers. The perfect finishing touch i think.

I love how this card turned out, got to love Coraline's blue hair, lol!!  Now I just have to keep my fingers crossed and hope that you all like it enough to vote for it.  I hope you do :)

Have a Wonderful Easter Weekend,
Thanks for visiting

me = flabbergasted! I cannot believe how smart this card is!! I was a bit too spooked out by Coraline, considering my age bracket, but this card takes the entire exciting atmosphere and none of its creepiness! I can tell you are so rad.
