It's Thursday so that means it's time for another Groovy Gurlz Challenge, and this weeks challenge is a corker, your challenge is to 'alter' anything in your home that holds something!. Now for me this was very challenge, as I've done very little 'altering' in the past; I decided to alter a coffee jar to hold some of my button stash.
The first thing i did was to make a template of the label area, I then printed Zeke and Maddie out nice and big, so that they would fill the whole area. I chose a tartan paper from my stash and used this to cover the jar lid, i then added some decorative cord and some buttons. I then coloured Zeke and Maddie to coordinate with my paper, and I paper pieced part of their outfits. I covered the back of the Zeke and Maddie with tartan paper, so if you look through the glass of the jar, you can see it. I used my Xyron machine to add adhesive to my papers, and this worked brilliantly for adhering them to the glass.
This project was alot more fun than i'd anticipated, i was really quite nervous, as my altering skills are not brilliant; however i love the result, and now have a very pretty jar for my buttons. I hope you find something in your home you want to alter and play along with our challenge, if you need more inspiration, then make sure you visit the rest of the Groovy Gurlz to see their works of art.
Thank you for visiting
