This weeks Monday Mania Challenge over at Club Anya & Friends, is all about couples, Caz challenged us to make a card using an Anya and Ian stamp, and make them look like a couple.
Choosing which Anya and Ian to use was alot easier than normal; i recently received some new TGF stamps, and Quarterback Ian was one of them, so i thought he'd look perfect paired with Cheerleader Anya. My paper choice was another easy one too, this paper comes from the Papermania - Love set, and i thought was perfect for this challenge.
I stamped Anya and Ian in memento ink onto watercolour paper, then coloured them with Caran d'arch Watersoluable Crayons; i love these crayons and haven't used them for a while. Most of the colouring i did with a brush, taking colour from the tip of the crayon, i add some shadows using the crayons direct to the paper, and then added a little extra water. I was fairly happy with the effect, but felt that the browns needed to be darker, so i used my prismacolour pencils to add darker browns into the image.
I cut Anya and Ian out and mounted them on the card with some foam pads. I added some paper pricking detail to the flourishes of the patterned paper, and round the edge of the card. For my finishing touch i added 3 metallic red hearts.
This is a very simple card, and i'm not sure weither i should have added some extra layers to it? But i like the overal effect, and loved working with a brush again, just need to find my watercolours now :)
Thanks for looking, and please pop back tomorrow to see my debut post for 'Raise the Bar' Challenge blog which launches tomorrow.
