I wish i could Fly....

....right up to the sky but i can't, but Travel Anya can, and she is landing at The Greeting Farm on the 15th December along with the other wonderful releases.

For this card i wanted to create a vintage feel, something a little different for me.  First of all i stamped Travel Anya with brown memento ink, then i used a pricking template to prick the decorative boarder around the image.  I then coloured Anya in with my coloured pencils, and used odourless blender and coloured pencils to create the graduated background.  I careful repricked the border, as it was a little flat, and then i layered it onto a piece of copper metallic card, then onto a dark brown card base.

After the vintage feel of the previous card, i decided i wanted something a little brighter and more upto date, so i came up with this card.....

I had alot of fun with this card, and have used some of my favourite techniques.  First of all i stamped Travel Anya with brown memento ink, and coloured her with my promarkers, now to me Travel Anya looks like an air hostess, and therefore she would not have been complete without some red lipstick, so i did a little altering giving her lips, and some nice brown mascara.

I then moved on to the stitched frame, i decided to use twine, as i wanted to get some texture into the card, and it reminds me of packages that have travelled the world securely tied up with twine (strange how my brain works, tehe) to contrast the colour and texture of the twine i then added a red organza ribbon border.  I do love stitched frames, they take a little time, but really add alot to a card.

I wanted to keep the background of the card fairly simple, but i wanted some colour, so i created a grid background, and coloured the squares with some of the promarkers i'd used to colour Anya with.  I then went over the grid lines with a brown koh-i-noor pen and trimmed the paper to fit my card base.  As a finishing touch i added 3 red buttons which i had thread with twine.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog, and make sure you come back tomorrow to see a truly lovely set of stamps being released alongside Travel Anya.

Why don't you fly by the Club Anya Blog now to see where else Travel Anya has been, the rest of the DT have created some awesome samples as always :)

Have a great day

Bee-yoo-tee full Miss Suzi! I agree w/ Rach too-when I was uploading the cards last night to CA I was thinking of the movie Pearl Harbor for some reason (dont ask me why LOL!) but the one in particular is beautifully vintage-it turned out really cool!
