I've had fun the last couple of days working on this card for a friend of my mums, who is turning 70 very soon. Took me ages to decide on what sort of image to use, and i ended settling for the gorgeous seasonal fairies from The Greeting Farm. I had a little play with them in a graphics package to group them together, then i printed them out, and coloured with my coloured pencils.
As it's a special card, i wanted to create a bit of Wow factor, so i decided to go for an easel card, this one is A5 is size, as i printed the image fairly large to form the focal point of the card. I just got a set of the Martha Stewart Round the Page Punches and was desperate to use them; i'm really pleased how well they worked with this card, i've managed to achieve a lovely border on all the edges of the easel card, which i really think enhances it.
I added some glitter glue to the image for a bit of sparkle, and a gorgeous glitter 70 embellishment i bought specifically for this card. As a finishing touch i decided to add some paper roses and leaves to the card, and on the base of the easel card i added a birthday sentiment tag on foam pads which holds the card open.
Just hope the recipient likes it, will have to wait and see.
Thanks for looking
