Anyone for Anya? - Funky Floral Geisha

Funky Floral Geisha

My stamp of choice for this card was Geisha Anya, who always looks serene and beautiful. The colour scheme for this card was an easy choice by cousin loves midnight blue, and i thought that would look perfect with silver, so my decision was made.

I created the large flower using my Dahlia Nestie Dies, i cut a petal out of each flower and then used my embossing tool to mould each petal, and almost like magic the gap from the missing petal disappeared as i embossed the remaining petals.

I found the gorgeous background paper in my stash, it was almost like a fabric, very thick metallic and a wonderful crinkly texture. I wasn't sure how well my adhesive would stick this paper, so i decided to sew it to the card. I used my crop a dile to punch a border around the three open sides of the card, and i then threaded some thin blue ribbon through the hole using a back stitch to create a nice ribbon border. I finished it in the bottom left corner, by tying a couple of bows and snipping the ends off, look quite pretty I think!

As a final touch i added three dark blue satin flowers to the bottom of the card, i added pearls to the centre of the paper flower and the fabric flowers.

I'm pleased with how this turned out, as i don't tend to use such a dark blue that often, so this was a little out of my comfort zone. I really like the ribbon border, and i'm loving pearls at the moment :)
