Here's the card i made today for the Fresh Farm Friday Challenge over at The Greetings Farm and for this weeks Passion for Promarkers colour challenge.
The Fresh Farm Friday Challenge was to create a card based on the Sketch designed and provided by Jessica DT Coordinator for Club Anya/The Greetings Farm. The only minor change i made to the layout of my card was i angled the centre panel, other than that i followed the sketch pretty closely :)
This weeks Passion for Promarkers colour challenge was to use Pumpkin and Prussian Blue and we had to make a halloween themed card. This was a fun challenge, as it gave me another opportunity to use my Spooktacular stamps from TGF, i just love these cute little Anyas & Ians.
I tried a slightly different colouring technique on this card, using Cool Grey 5 to create the darker areas, then i went over them with either Prussian Blue, or Pumpkin depending on which character i was colouring. I also used a different paper, i used the letraset bleedproof paper pad i bought a while ago; i bought the draft quality pad which is 70gsm. I was surprised at how much colour this paper can deal with, as i tend to do quite a lot of blending with the different pens. This paper is quite thin, and slightly transparent, so the finished coloured image looked a bit like vellum, an effect i quite like. For this card i mounted my coloured image onto a plain white cardstock to really let the colours shine, but for future projects i plan on experimenting with layering the letraset paper with pattern papers to make the most of the translucent qualities it possess's.
I added staples and ribbon to the card for interest, and added the dotty borders to take away some of the white, as it was a bit too bright. I think the dotty borders work quite well, especially as the top background paper is dotty. The background papers where actually blue and white when i started the project, but i went over them with my pumpkin promarker to make them work for this project.
Quite a bright cheery card, i quite like the depth of colour i've acheived with my ammended colouring technique, i think i will play around with technique a little more.
Thanks for looking
