It seems ages since i took part in any of the challenges over at Passion for Promarkers, so i was determined to have a go at this weeks colour challenge. I love Rose Pink and Cocoa, such a scrummy combination, so for a scrummy colour combination i decided to use a scrummy stamp, Edward one of the gorgeous Wild Sprouts stamps available from The Greetings Farm; He arrived a couple of days ago and i couldn't wait to ink him up.
I experimented a bit with this card, first when colouring the background circle, i love the blended effect i managed to get on the horizon, simple by using the 2 colours together when still wet.
I then used a doodle template to add the circle pattern, i quite like the effect but wish i'd used a different colour pen to draw them in, the black outline just looks a little harsh!
I decided to use the outer circle of circles as a guide for punching holes and then i threaded ribbon through them to create a frame effect.
Ah the ribbon, i nearly forgot, Doesn't it go perfectly with the colour scheme? I was checking my ribbon stash and couldn't find anything that went, so out came the white ribbon and my promarkers, i used cocoa and henna on the ribbon, so it has a two tone effect in real life.
The main background papers came from a Making Memories Paper pad (Cosmopolitan Collection). I used a couple of different sheets. I went over some areas of the paper with the rose pink promarker as the pink of the paper wasn't quite the right colour, works much better now i think. I used the fiskars threading water punch on a piece of the paper and mounted it up on foam pads to add a bit of depth.
As a finishing touch i decided to add a sentiment, this cute little 'fangtastic' came from the new Spooktacular set of stamps from The Greetings Farm; can't wait to have a play with the rest of them.
