Double Trouble

I made this card a few days ago for a challenge over at Splitcoaststampers, the challenge was to duplicate something on your card, hence the double trouble title. As soon as i saw the challenge i thought of using this super cute digistamp image i'd got from CCDesigns, i couldn't get hold of the rubber stamp, so i bought the digitstamp instead (instant gratification :) )

The wonderful thing about digistamps is you can print them at whatever size you want, and you can also flip and rotate the images. Therefore you can get more than one cute image from your digistamp.

I coloured this gorgeous little pixie with my Letraset Promarkers, the sentiment is from the 'NeverEver' set from TGF. As for the layout of the card, i just decided to have a play around with some things from my craft stash. The card blank is from a box of Papermania card which have wonderful designs printed on them, so no need for a backing paper, i then punched a border on some green card with one of my favourite border punches, and stuck it to the bottom of some purple card to form a little background scenery for the pixies. The final touch was a few green butterfly gems to add a little bling and sparkle to this card.

I quite like how this card evolved as i was making it, the paper strips give it a modern art ish feel, sort of remeniscent of mondrian, which gives me more inspiration for card layouts and backgrounds.
