Remembering Aletha Blog Hop

This post today is part of a very special blog hop. We are celebrating the life of an amazingly talented artist and friend. The crafting community lost Aletha Jane Williams on May 5, 2019. Those of us that worked with her on Design Teams or on Challenge Blogs all agree that she was one of the sweetest and most talented women we knew. We are not here to mourn her loss though. This hop is happening in conjunction with a very special celebration of her life and her art that her husband Bob is holding in her home city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Please join us in honouring our incredibly creative friend Aletha.

I'm honoured to be taking part in this special blog hop, I was lucky enough to be on a few Design Teams with Aletha.  Not only was she a wonderfully talented artist but one of the nicest people you could know; I remember I was going through a rough time with my health a few years ago, and wasn't in a very good place mentally and emotionally.  Aletha was so kind and encouraging chatting to me via email and messenger, I will never forget her kindest.

My project today is inspired by Aletha, She was amazing talented with Copics, so I decided to use my alcohol markers to colour an image that has been created in her memory by the wonderfully talented Mitzi Sato-Wiuff;

 The background of my card is a Gelli Print I created a little while ago, I've added shading to it with a Aquarelle Graphite Pencil.  Here's a close up;

You can see some of Aletha's beautiful art by visiting her website, AJ's Design Artz

Thank you for joining us on our special hop for Aletha.

Gorgeous piece you created for this memorial blog hop, Suzi! Aletha loved purple so much, didn't she? This tribute celebrates so well the artistry and love of color Aletha shared with us!! M xx
