Oddball Art Stamps Challenge Reminder - A Winter's Tale

Today I'd like to share with you another card i've created for the current challenge over at the Oddball Art Stamps Challenge Blog.

Our theme this month is 'A Winter's Tale', and you can interpret this however you wish, but we'd love you to share with us you an explanation of your interpretation, if it's not obvious.

Here is my project;

For my card I used 'Taffy the Clown' image #76B.  I had great fun colouring her in shades of blue, grey and beige using my Letraset Tria and ProMarkers.

So you are probably thinking What does a Blue Clown have to do with A Winter's Tale?

Here goes; This card like my previous one for this challenge is inspired by the song A Winter's Tale sung by David Essex.  I see David Essex as our Clown, looking and feeling blue, but trying to put on a brave face to the world; He's pining for his lost love, trying not to make a fuss as it's the holiday season and everyone else is trying to have fun, and enjoy time with their loved ones.  He's trying to smile and wishes his lost love good things for the future, even though their relationship is over, and he's left feeling sad and alone in Winter.

Hopefully my explanation makes sense.  I do love being able to create a back story for the gorgeous images I get to colour.

Super Cute Card from Oddball Art Stamps

Today I'd like to share with you a very quick tutorial and card featuring one of the latest new release images from Oddball Art Stamps

I couldn't resist using the adorable Hudson image#363, he is such a cutie.  I wanted to try something a little different when colouring his outfit, so I decide to give him a plaid shirt.

I chose 4 different colours of Alcohol Pens , for this project I used Letraset Promarkers and Tria Markers.  I created the pattern using a layer of lines for each colour, here are a couple of pictures of my practice sheet, to give you the idea;
As you can see the pattern builds up really quickly.  Once I was happy with my pattern, I used the same technique to colour Hudson's shirt;
Once I'd got the pattern onto Hudson's shirt, I added some shading using Neutral Grey markers.  I added some more colour to the pattern once I'd coloured the rest of the image, just to make his shirt stand out a little more.  I then added some highlights with white gel pen.

For the rest of my project, I took patterned papers from a coordinate pack and layered them onto a white card blank.  I trimmed my image and stamped the sentiment, before adding some hand doodles borders to all my papers.

I added my image to a patterned paper before adding it to my card with some dimensional foam pads to add a little depth to the card.

I used Spectrum Noir Illustrator Pens to colour my image, with the additon of Spectrum Noir Glitter Pen in Gold for the dress.

My project is a Gift Envelope rather than a card, it's from the DoCrafts Geometric Mocha collection, I also used an envelope from the matching card set for my background, I cut out the square with gold foiled border, and then used some of the leftover patterned paper for the panel behind my sentiment.

Oddball Art Stamps Challenge - A Winter's Tale

It's a New Year and it's time for a new challenge over at the Oddball Art Stamps Blog,  our theme for this month is 'A Winter's Tale'

Here's my creation, It's inspired by the song 'A Winter's Tale' by David Essex, and brings back memories of me narrating the christmas play in primary school, back in the mid 80s;

I used the gorgeous 'Holiday Alex' image #357,  She is coloured with Spectrum Noir Illustrator Pens and a little white gel pen for highlights.

I had great fun colouring this cutie, love how her skin and outfit came out, need to practise more on the black hair.  Takes a while to get use to new pens and how the colours work together, but the Illustrator Pens are lovely to work with.

For my background I used digital papers designed by my Oddball Art Stamps DT Colleague Lozzy, you can grab them for free on her blog, along with some other wonderful designs. They worked perfect for this project.

I added some white and pale blue ribbon to my background, along with some silver bells, a white flock snowflake, and blue gem.

More Mixed Media Challenge - Anything Goes with the option of 'Blue'

Today I'd like to share with you my latest DT project for the More Mixed Media Challenge Blog

Our challenge goes live on the 5th of each month and is always an 'Anything Goes' challenge with an optional colour twist, this months colour is Blue.

Here's my project
My project this month is an altered notebook.  I've used Faber Castell Gelatos in Pistachio, Blueberry and Metallic Blueberry for my background, after blending these together with a dampened cloth I added a layer of Liquitex Gloss Super Heavy Gel, This works wonderfully as a sealant and a glue, so I added some to the back of my centerpiece before layering that on top of the notebook whilst the gel was still wet, I added more gel over the centerpiece to seal it, then left it all to dry overnight.

My centerpiece is a page from the Spectrum Noir Colorista Premium Marker Pad - Butterflies, which I was lucky enough to receive as a freebie when i purchased my Spectrum Noir Illustrator Pens.  I used Spectrum Noir Illustrator Pens to colour this page, I used the following colours;
Flower - TB3, TB4, TB5
Butterfly & Dragonfly - TB1, TB3, TB5, AP1, AP3, CT1, GG1
Leaves - GG1, GG3, LG1

I had great fun with this project, I think i'm starting to get the hang of my Spectrum Noir Illustrator Pens, they are certainly lovely pens to work with, and blend beautifully together.  The Colorista Marker Pad is rather cool too, lovely quality cardstock and I love the glitter on it.

That's all from me for today,  Thank you for visiting with me
