My Top 12 Cards of 2012

2012 is nearly at it's end, and we are approaching a new year, so it's the perfect time to look back over the last twelve months and look at some of our favourite creations.

Choosing just 12 creations for the year wasn't that easy, in fact i got Stewart to help me short list them, so if you don't see your favourite card of mine, it is his fault not mine, tehe!!

Looking back 2012 has been a good year for me creatively;  I've had the pleasure of working with some awesome images, wonderful people, and made a few new friends along the way.

It's been a year of endings and beginnings, and lots of decisions, some of them not always that easy to make, but looking back I think i've done ok, I'm fairly happy with how the years panned out.

Unfortunately I had to say goodbye to my beautiful Bagpuss in March; a sad loss and very unexpected.  Just a few days ago we had another death in the family, this time one of the most important men in my life, my beloved Granddad Ted. A very sad way to end the year, but I plan on rejoicing in his memory and intend to focus on the good times, and look to the future.

So here are my Top 12 Creations of 2012;
January 2012 - featuring Alice from SimplyBStamps.net

February 2012 - featuring Little Queen and Little King from Pixie Dust Studio

March 2012 - featuring Britteny Loves from Pixie Dust Studio

 April 2012 - featuring Babe at the Beach by Crissy Armstrong @ Whimsy Stamps

May 2012 - featuring Eva the Witch from Delicious Doodles

 June 2012 - featuring Mr.Pitts and Jinx from the Teen Scene Glam Rockers @ SimplyBStamps.net

 July 2012 - featuring Jedi Betty from SimplyBStamps.net

September 2012 - La Rosa Muerta from Delicious Doodles

October 2012 - featuring Washi Tape Kinda Girl from Saturated Canary

November 2012 -  featuring Remembering(Retired Freebie) from Rick St. Dennis

 December 2012 - featuring Christmas Surprise from Delicious Doodles

I hope you've enjoyed looking back at my favourite creations of 2012, If your doing a similar post then please do leave a link to your blog in the comments section of this post, as I'd love to see your favourite creations of the year.

Wishing you all a Very Happy, Safe and Healthy 2013

Sparkle & Glitter with Rick - Challenge #6; Last Minute Shopping!

It's time for a new challenge at Sparkle and Glitter with Rick St. Dennis
Last Minute Shopping - Yes we all end up having some to do, or those last minute gifts that need to be made once the shops are closed and you realise you've forgotten to get something for one of your Christmas guests!!

We have yet another wonderful and generous sponsor this challenge.
Stitchy Bear have kindly donated a $10 Gift Certificate to be awarded to one lucky winner. There are so many images to choose from drawn by a variety of very talented artists, there's going to be loads you'll want to choose.

We, on the EDT, would like to see those last minute makes. Those gift bags and tags that make an ordinary gift something more special. Those last minute cards for friends and family who have decided that they'd rather spend time with you this holiday period. Even those last minute cookies you've baked and packaged, all festively, for a neighbour. Whatever your Last Minute Preparations are, care to show us? We'd love to see and  get inspiration from you.

I hate to go out shopping at this time of year, and all the online stores have stopped shipping for Christmas now, so any last minute gifts I want to give, I have to make first, which is exactly what I did for today's challenge.

What better gift than a Calender for the forthcoming year; I used a selection of the beautiful Randi Dandi images from the Rick St. Dennis Etsy store along with the 2013 Calender Printable Stamp Set from The Cutting Cafe.
 January featuring Nina Nouveau

February featuring Bernadette

 March featuring Vikki

April featuring Betti

 May featuring Tasha

June featuring Ree Ree

I'm still working on July - December, so pop back next week, and i'll post Part 2 of my 2013 Calender then.  Before I go, I have to share with you a super quick last minute project i made using a beautiful image by Delicious Doodles available at Stitchy Bear Stamps.
I made this super cute Bag-A-Lope following at tutorial at Splitcoaststampers.com, I used the beautiful Christmas Surprise image to decorate the front of my gift bag.  I amended the dimensions a little using an A5 envelope, cutting the top off it, and then scoring 1 inch borders instead of 2 inch borders, then I simply followed the rest of the tutorial.

That's all from me for today, I hope all your festive plans are coming together nicely, and I want to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas.
Bye for now

Day 12 of the 13 Days of Creepmas

It's Day 12 of the Rick St. Dennis 13 Days of Creepmas hop, apologise for being a little late with my post today, got a little tied up with some creepy monsters!!
 Talk about creepy today's addition to the scene is downright scary; Not sure i'd want to accept his gift, but then again would you be brave enough to refuse a gift from 'This is for you'
I wonder if the contents of that box are dead or alive, it's so very hard to tell!!  Maybe it's best we don't know lol!!

That's all for today, but make sure you come back tomorrow for the final addition to my Creepmas Scene, will we get a happy ending, or will it be truly frightful, who knows!!

Enjoy checking out the wonderful Creepmas Creations in all the ongoing Creepmas Blog Hops, full hop lists are in the sidebar to the left of this post.

Day 11 of The 13 Days of Creepmas

It's Day 11 of The Rick St. Dennis 13 Days of Creepmas Blog Hop ( Day 6 of the Smeared and Smudged Creepmas Hop).  My Creepmas Scene is getting scarier and scarier as the days progress, I'm getting really worried as to what Day 13 will bring!!

 Today we are joined by 'Lets have Reindeer this Year', and doesn't he look like he needs a good meal or two!!
At least the Head Chef now has someone to help him with the cooking, although I still think i'd go for the vegetarian option, I'm sure they taste nice, and must be very healthy with all those veggies they eat!!

Don't forget to check out all the stops of the Creepmas Hops, full blog lists are to the left of this post in my sidebar, have fun.  Hope you'll come back tomorrow

Day 10 of the 13 Days of Creepmas

Can you believe it's Day 10 of the Rick St. Dennis 13 Days of Creepmas? It's amazing how quickly this wonderful hop is flying by; It's quite sad that we're getting towards the end.  But before then, we have festivities to continue, so onto today's addition to our Creepmas Scene;
Well it's look like we won't have to worry too much about food for the festivities  looks like the Head Chef has got it all under control, slow roasted skull for anyone?  Not sure i'd want to eat anything he'd prepared, he looks pretty moldy himself!!

That's it from me for today, remember to visit all the other stops on the Creepmas Hops, Blog Rolls to the left of this post in the sidebar, as before.

Day 9 of the 13 Days of Creepmas

It's Day 9 of the Rick St Dennis 13 Days of Creepmas, and time for us to visit my Creepmas Scene to see who has joined us for the Creepmas Festivities;
 I'm happy to see all our little elves are still happy and smiling, looks like they might all be preparing for a party as today we are joined by 'I Got Decoratin To Do', a rather creepy mature lady, who seems to like a wee martini!!
 She does look like she's had one or two drinkies already!!
Here's hoping she doesn't hurt herself or anyone else putting all those decorations up; I guess we'll find out tomorrow!!

All the Creepmas Blog Rolls are listed in my sidebar to the left of this post, so have lots of fun hopping along and don't forget to leave lots of creepy comments for the very talented artists you'll be visiting, I know they have all put a lot of time and effort into their Creepmas Creations.

Day 8 of the 13 Days of Creepmas

It's Day 8 of the Rick St. Dennis 13 Days of Creepmas, and we have two very little additions to our Creepmas Scene today;
Introducing Sewing Elf and Painter Elf from Santas Toyshop Digital Sheet, they've come to check up on their big brother Creepmas Tree Elf to make sure he's doing ok, isn't that sweet of them!!  Personally I don't know, there is something i just don't trust about something so cute and sweet looking, reminds me of Gizmo from the Gremlins, and we all know what happened when he got wet and ate after midnight!!!  I dread to think what these Elves are going to look like after midnight!!

That's it for today, he's hoping Creepmas Tree Elf survives another night in the Creepmas House, and we'll see who joins him tomorrow.

All blog hop stops are in the blog rolls on my sidebar to the left of this post, so make sure you hop along and check out all the creepy creations.

Day 7 of the 13 Days of Creepmas

Welcome to Day 7 of the Rick St Dennis 13 Days of Creepmas (It's Day 5 of the Smeared and Smudged 13 Days of Creepmas) and our Creepmas Scene has transformed...
Our Poor Little Creepmas Tree Elf got so scared that he ran inside the Creepmas Cottage to hide!!
Here you can see him beside the Fireplace, which has a very pretty oil lamp on it, and a very nice clock on the wall ready to chime on every creepy hour.
Oh dear, looks like this Creepmas Cottage may not be that safe a haven for our Creepmas Tree Elf, those Creepmas Children look mighty scary, nice old fashioned stove tho!

Looks like we'll have to come back tomorrow to see how our Creepmas Tree Elf gets on, fingers crossed he survives the night!!

Don't forget to check out the other stops on the Creepmas Blog Hops, all 3 blog rolls are in my sidebar to the left of this post, so happy hopping.

Day 6 of the 13 Days of Creepmas

It's Day 6 of the Rick St. Dennis 13 Days of Creepmas, and things are getting very weird around here, today's addition is well, not very creepy, in fact I think he might be lost!!

To be honest I think he's very cute, he's the Creepmas Tree Elf and he is very mischievous  he's the little Elf that likes to tangle up all the Fairy Lights for the Christmas Tree, that's why they are always such a mess when you get them out of the box.
I'm a little worried about our Creepmas Tree Elf, I'm not sure how long he's going to survive in this harsh environment, Scrooge and the Head Master both look as if they fancy cooking him for dinner!! I wonder if he'll be here tomorrow when we return??

You guessed it, you'll have to return tomorrow to see the next addition to our Creepmas Scene. In the meantime, remember to hop along the Creepmas Blog Hop Lists that are in the sidebar to the left of this post.

Happy Hopping

My Card for today features the Christmas Candle image and sentiment by StampArt Designs by Kathryne.  I coloured the image and sentiment with a mix of Letraset Promarkers, Tria Markers and Flexmarkers, before fussy cutting the image.

I cut the card base using my Sizzix Eclips and a Lattice Card File, I also cut out some labels for the sentiment.  I added some glitter card to the inside of my card before adding the sentiment, and added the image to the front of the card.  A very festive card, and perfect for the latest challenge at the Whimsy Inspiration Challenges Blog.

Welcome to Day 5 of the Rick St Dennis 13 Days of Creepmas Hop, time for another addition to my Creeptastic Scene;
 It's definitely getting creepier as the days progress!

Today's additions is Rick's awesome version of Scrooge called Bah Humbug. I had to include Scrooge, he's the embodiment of Creepmas, cold, scary and rather smelly too!!

As before, you'll find the blog hop lists in the sidebar to the left of this post for all of the awesome Creepmas Hops that i'm participating in; Remember the Smeared and Smudged Creepmas Hop posts on alternate days, so we're only on Day 3 of that hop.
