12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop Day 7 - The Stars are Brightly Shining

Today I have the honour of being a Guest Designer at the Honeybearz Designs 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop, aswell as sharing my Jellypark Challenges DT Card with you.
Firstly let me tell you about this weeks new challenge at Jellypark Challenges;
Use Stars on your projects somewhere!!
As you can see the Stars on my project are gems of various sizes for the Star of Bethlehem, with a few smaller gems scattered in the sky for other stars.
The image I used is called 'Christmas Nativity' and is just a beautiful depiction of the traditional nativity scene. I coloured my image with Letraset Promarkers, before adding it to a plain white card base.  I then added some green satin ribbon with a few extra gems, along with my computer generated sentiment.
That's all there is to say about my card for today, now it's time to give you some more details on the Honeybearz Designs 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop;

Fun with Snowflakes at The Cutting Cafe with CDee Designs...

It's time for our Inspiration Post at The Cutting Cafe and this week it's all about Snowflakes; I used the Fun with Snowflakes Cutting Files to create the very pretty snowflake backgrounds on my card.

I cut both the snowflake backgrounds out of glossy white card using my Sizzix Eclips.  I then stuck the framed snowflakes onto a piece of silver mirri card with a sheet of double sided adhesive film.  This left all the gaps between the snowflakes sticky, and ready for me to sprinkle on some pretty pink glitter.  I rubbed the glitter well into all the sticky gaps, and then just brushed off the excess. To finish this panel, I added a few gems to the centre of the snowflakes.  I then trimmed the other snowflake background to give the two rows of snowflakes behind my image, these are just stuck down with pva glue, and then a few more gems added.

My beautiful image is called Arwen and is available from CDee Designs.  You'll find lots of beautiful images in the CDee Designs Etsy Store; all of them are hand drawn by the very talented Chrissie Taft.  Make sure you have a good browse in the store, as you'll find lots of fun images for all your crafting projects.

Don't forget to check out the Inspiration Post at The Cutting Cafe, as you'll find lots more beautiful snowflakes projects by the wonderful DT, and a great deal on this weeks files.

Who Loves Turkey??

Personally I prefer Chicken! However this Little Turkey has stolen my heart.  He was such fun to make, he's from The Cutting Cafe, he's the Turkey Shaped Card and you'll find him along with lots of other wonderful cutting files and digi stamps.

I cut him out with my Sizzix Eclips, using a textured cardstock for the card base and all his feathers.  I cut the rest of his pieces out of some glossy white card stock, which i then coloured with Letraset Promarkers.  I then simply stuck him together with some glue tape,  and added some black pearls for his eyes.

It's Inspiration Day over at The Cutting Cafe, so why don't you pop over there to see what the rest of the DT have created for you, I'm sure there will be a few more Turkey's wandering around.

Remembering We Care with Rick St. Dennis; Freebies too!!

It's the first Saturday of the month, so it's Freebie and Fun Day with Rick St. Dennis.  Rick has two beautiful freebies on his Blog this weekend for you, they are exclusive to his blog and only available this weekend, so grab them whilst you can.

My first card today features 'Remembering' the first of this weekends freebies; She is coloured with Letraset Promarkers, fussy cut out and then I added some extra fine glitter to her dress for that special sparkle.  The background is an image by Make It Crafty, called Red Carpet, which I coloured in shades of grey to emphasise the pink of my image. The sentiment is from MFT Cinema set of stamps and dies.

My second card features today's second freebie, We Care from Randi Dandi, one of the awesome collections of images availabe in Rick St. Dennis's Etsy Store.

I've coloured the image with Letraset Promarkers again, the ribbons are yellow with black polka dots as this is the Awareness Ribbon for Fibromyalgia Association UK. This is a cause very close to my heart, as both my mother and myself suffer from this frustrating and debilitating illness.

Want the chance to win more Rick St.Dennis images, then make sure you join us at Rick St. Dennis Fans and Friends Facebook Group today from 9am PST/4pm GMT; when Rick will be hosting a day of quizzes, giveaways, and revealing his new images.

Day 2 of Whimsy Stamps November Digital Stamp Release Showcase

Hello and welcome to Day 2 of Whimsy Stamps November Digital Stamp Release Showcase!

Yesterday Whimsy Stamps released this month's new digital designs, From then until 4th November the Whimsy Digital DT and Special Guests are showcasing these fabulous new goodies with a daily mini blog hop and I am part of today’s hop!

Each mini blog hop has a new release prize hidden somewhere along the way and you have 24hrs to enter each prize draw. To be entered into today's mini blog hop prize draw, be sure to leave a comment on ALL of the DT's posts listed below by 12.00PM EST tomorrow. All winners will be announced on the Whimsy blog on 5th November

For my card today I used the beautiful Star of Bethlehem image by Crissy Armstrong.  I coloured the image with Letraset Promakers before cutting out the image, I cut all of the sky out as I knew I wanted to use my card base as my sky.   I created an easel style card base, leaving the bottom of the card longer than the easel part, so I could add my sentiment.

For my sentiment I searched the internet for the Hymn 'While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks', and found this lovely version of the sheet music, in an old type font.  I printed it off, and coloured it with Letraset Promarkers to coordinate with my image, and make it look older.

I then added some gems in various sizes to create my Star of Bethlehem.  I added a few gems to the bottom of the card as my final embellishment for this card.

 To take a peek at the rest of today's fabulous new release creations, please click on the links below...

Back to Nature with Jellypark

Good Morning, It's time for a new challenge at Jellypark Friends Challenges, our theme is...
Use nature to inspire your projects! Use leaves, trees, animal images etc to inspire your nature themed projects.

I decided to go for a wintery nature themed card, so chose this super cute little penguin with his wooly hat image. Mr Penguin is coloured with Letraset Promarkers, and then fussy cut and mounted on foam pads.  I found this lovely snowflake paper in my stash, so decided that would make a lovely sky; I cut and embossed some white card stock for my snow covered ground.

For a little sparkle and bling I added some tinseled elastic cord with a snowflake charm.  For extra sparkle I added some clear gems to the centre of the snowflake.

It's also release day over at Jellypark, so make sure you hop over to the Jellypark blog to see the wonderful creations from the rest of the DT for both the new releases and our fun challenge.

Happy Crafting

DICC #41 Sponsored by Floppy Latte Designs

It's the start of a new month, and therefore a new challenge over at Desert Island Crafters Challenge blog. I can hardly believe it's November already, hopefully you all had a wonderful Halloween, and have managed to stay safe and avoid Sandy; I hope all those affected manage to get back to some sort of normality soon, although it looks like it's gonna be a long journey for those directly affected by Sandy.

Our itinerary this week is brought to us by DT member Sharon:

 1. Vintage
2. Brown/Sepia Colours
3. Round Shaped

4. Braid
5. Not a Card
6. Patterned Paper
7. Collage
8. Charms
9. Add a Sentiment
10. Ribbon

Our sponsor this week is:

One lucky random participant will receive a $10.00 gift certificate to Floppy Latte Designs online store.  If you happen to use an image from FLD in your entry this week and you win, they will increase your prize.

Here's my card based on Sharon's Itinerary;
For my card I used the 'Snow Globe' image by Floppy Latte. As soon as I saw this image I knew it would be perfect for this challenge, the image has such a lovely traditional vintage feel to it.  I coloured the image with Letraset Promarkers with the addition of 'Snow' courtesy of a Marvy Snow Writer pen.

I found the patterned papers in my stash and thought they worked very nicely as wallpaper and a table top for my snow globe.  To embellish my card i added some brown organza ribbon, to which I attached a snowflake charm.  To finish my card I added a ticket sentiment from my stash, I coloured it with my promarkers to coordinate it with the rest of the card.

Definitely not my usual colour scheme, but it's fun to try something a little different and brown is definitely different for me.  I hope you'll have chance to hop over the Desert Island Crafters Challenge Blog to check out the beautiful creations from the rest of the Design Team.  We'd love to see your creations too, so have fun and play along if you can.

Bye for now
