Doesn't Jude look adorable with his new best friend! I kept my card very simple; Jude is coloured with Letraset Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I stamped a sentiment next to Jude before trimming the image and mounting on some red card. I create a card base from some red card stock onto which i layers some white card with some red and black punchinella. I added a few red staples to give a grungy feel to the finished card.
Want to see what the rest of the Dt have done with Jude, then you need to join in the hop. Here's the full hop list incase you've missed any stops;
Yes today we are introducing you to a Star; Rock Star Lilly is ready for Rockin' and Rollin' your world! I think everyone has their little "I wanna be a Rock Star" moments, and Lilly is sure giving hers all she's got rocking those Skinny Jeans and singing her little heart out... she may be the Jessie J!! She'll be available along with the rest of the Jude and the Rockers - Just for Fun Collection in just a few short hours!!
Until then, here's my card featuring Rock Star Lilly...
She really is rockin' that mike! Lilly is coloured with Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers. I used some papers from an old DCWV Spring Stack, and added some punchinella, fushcia organza ribbon, and some cute star buttons. My die cut sentiment is from Whimsy stamps and goes perfectly with this image.
We've one more image to share with you later, along with a very fun blog hop!
Bye for now
It's Thursday so time for another Pixie Dust Studio Challenge and this week's is all about embossing, wet or dry embossing it's up to you, just show us some embossing on your project.
For my card I used the beautiful 'Heart Garden' image from the Lovestruck Collection of images available at the Pixie Dust Studio Store. I coloured my image with Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers and added some distress ink to the edges. I added the same distress ink to my embossed panel, which i'd embossed with a cuttlebug embossing folder. I found some polka dot paper in my stash which i layered onto my card blank. I used a trellis border punch on the green paper to give a nice dividing line between the papers. I then used the 'Spring Border' die from Memory Box to create my delicate border at the bottom of the card, which i finished off with some washi tape.
I have to say i love the mixture of textures in this card, and the spring border die, cut so beautifully, i'm sure you'll be seeing it on quite a few more of my creations.
Thanks for visiting with me today, and make sure you hop over to the Pixie Dust Studio Challenge Blog to see the beautiful cards the rest of the Pixies have to share with you, and to get all the details on how to join in our challenge.
....well that's not strictly true, it's my card that is distressed rather than me, tehe!!
Yes this week's Whimsy Stamps Challenge is all about Distressing, we want to see some sort of distressing on your project, Distressed papers, ripped edges, maybe some embossed and sanded areas, just have fun, and remember you can always add some Distress Ink to help you along.
Here's my card...
For my card I used the beautiful Rose Butterfly image by Crissy Armstrong available at Whimsy Stamps Store. I coloured my image with a mix of Letraset Promarkers and Flexmarkers. I used papers and ribbon from the Burleigh Blue Capsule Collection by Papermania, not the sort of patterned papers I use very often, but they worked beautifully for this image, and the paper quality is remarkably good considering the price.
Thanks for visiting with me today
Bye for now
Say hello to Giddy Up Oscar! He's one fun rootin' and tootin' little cowboy! What little boy hasn't had the pleasure of riding those rocking horses right? He'll be available with the rest of his friends at the end of the week over at Simply B Stamps.
Isn't he adorable, and he really does look like he's having a blast. I had fun with this card using a mix of funky red papers with some coordinating mustard yellow papers. I used some tiny letter diecuts to create my sentiment, which i added to some diecut banners.
To frame my image I used some more of the mustard paper and cut some lovely photo corners with my new dies from Whimsy Stamps. To finish the card off I added some dark red pearls.
Welcome back, It's day two of our Jude and the Rockers - Just for Fun previews and you're going to love todays image. Remember playing Doctors and Nurses as a child? I know i do, I had a whole hospital of very sick dolls, even had a mental health ward for those extra special ones tehe!!
Today we are introducing Doctor Brittany, who is looking very professional in her Doctors coat with her stethoscope, and hopefully Teddy will be feeling much better soon.
Today I thought I'd share with you my DT project for the Poisoned Peas Please Challenge No. 2 - 'Fool's Game'
This Poisoned Peas Please (PPP) challenge is right up April’s alley (the month silly, not the girl). The theme is “Fool’s Game.” We want to see your interpretation of what you think a “Fool’s Game” might imply. We want you to create anything you like! This means you can create cards, ATCs, mixed-media, collage, altered art, etc.
Here's my interpretation of the theme;
We are very lucky to be sponsored by Smeared Ink this month, and I got to play with the wonderful Carnie Girl image. I kepted my card very simple; I printed Carnie Girl and coloured her with Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers. I found the Lyrics for Fool's Game by Limp Bizkit and thought they were perfect for this challenge; so i copied them into Word, and printed them onto Letrast Safmat to create my sticky sentiment.
I used a white card blank for my background to which i added some black punchinella, held on with a few red staples. I then added my image and sentiment, before finishing it all off with some strips of washi tape.
I love how this card turned out, I can really see this Carnie girl singing along with Limp Bizkit. The image and lyrics seem to be such a perfect match to me, hope you like my interpretation too. Make sure you visit the Poisoned Peas Please Challenge Blog to find all the details for the challenge, I do hope you'll play along.
Hello there, Today we are starting previews for another awesome addition to the Jude the Rockers Range over at Simply B Stamps; It's the Just for Fun Collection, and all the images are about fun things. So if you love those groovy little rockers, you won't want to miss any of the awesome images we have to preview for you.
Today we are introducing you to Chef Ariel, She loves to bake with her Mom, and they made this beautiful cake together for a very special friend.
Doesn't Ariel look awesome in her Chefs whites? What a perfect image for any birthday card, and such fun to colour. Ariel is coloured with Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers and then fussy cut. For my background i used papers from Basic Greys' Kioshi Paper Pad (which has been hiding in my stash for a while). I used the Balloon Sentiments and Dies from Whimsy Stamps to create my awesome balloon die cuts, and the monarch border from MFT. I added some Bakers Twine to the balloon die cuts, and to finish the card with a bit of bling, some pearls and a heart button to top the cake off.
Make sure you come back tomorrow for another awesome image, and don't forget to hop over to the Simply B Stamps Blog to check out the rest of the DTs awesome creations with Ariel.
this can be interpreted however you want - an image with a cell phone/electronics, patterned paper with text/words on it, a long sentiment, a sentiment in "text speak" like LOL, etc....just have something to do with text!!
For my card I used one of my favourite Pixie Dust Studio images of all time; Pearl of Wisdom from the Pearl Collection.I chose to use Pearl as she has a love of books, and therefore a love of TEXT! To show the modern meaning of Texting I added a Text style sentiment to my speech bubble die cut. I coloured Pearl with my Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers before fussy cutting her out.
I raided my paper stash and came across this the beautiful Kioshi paper by Basic Grey, I love the green background of this paper and the beautiful flowers, it creates such a lovely serene setting for Pearl. I added a couple of strips of the patterned paper to the bottom of the card, and used a grass border punch on them to create a nice soft base for Pearl to stand on. I added some organza ribbon and bakers twine for a bit of texture before finishing it off with a heart button with pearl centre.
I hope you like my card, and feel inspired to join us at Pixie Dust Studio Challenge Blog, we love it when you play along, and share your beautiful creations with us.
For my card today I used the adorable 'Lil' Mermaid' image from the AHOY Collection, I have to say she's one of my personal favourites. As you can see I indulged myself a little when making this card, and used some of my favourite colours and products. Lil' Mermaid is coloured with Letraset Promarkers and Flexmarkers, before being fussy cut. I used some beautiful dotty cerise organza ribbon on the bottom of my card. I used some cerise punchinella to create a wavy background behind my mermaid, and added some bling with a few star buttons and pearl centres.
If your a regular visitor to my blog you will know that I love to make Easel Cards, they are just so simple and effective. So you know i had great fun creating this Easel Card for this weeks Whimsy Stamps Challenge.
I coloured my image with Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers. My background papers are from a Digi Paper Pack called Spring Time by Shery K Designs. Shery has a wonderful selection of paper packs, at great prices, and they print out beautifully.
My sentiment is from the Birthday Sentimentables Die Set from Whimsy Stamps. To finish my easel card i added some lilac buttons and golden pearls to add a nice bit of bling.
I can't wait to see your Easel Cards, make sure you remember to add your link to the Whimsy Stamps Challenge Blog to be in with a chance of being our weekly winner.
Today I'd like to share with you my first card using the new AHOY Collection of images from the Pixie Dust Studio. My card features the adorable Jack Jr image, and he'll be available for you to buy along with some friends on Thursday 12th April.
Jack Jr is coloured with Letraset Promarkers and Flexmarkers, then fussy cut out. I created a background scene using patterned papers to represent the sky, sea, sand and quayside. To add a little bling I added a pearl border to the left hand side of the card, alternating between white and deep red pearls. To finish it all off I stamped my sentiment onto the sky.
Thanks for visiting with me, come back tomorrow for another fun sneak peek
Bye for now
It's Friday already, and time for us to formally introduce you to the last of the Spunky Spooks. Verity Vamp and her friend Boris the Bat. Verity is a beautiful and refined lady, who enjoys the finer things in life, good wine, good friends, good graveyards!! She's very sophisticated, but don't be deceived by her looks, behind that beautiful visage is the heart of a beast, a savage beast!!
We are on our travels again today. This time we are off to the mysterious and wonderful world that is Egypt...land of the pharaohs and pyramids, and home to Marcy Mummy and her pet scorpion Moses.
Here's Marcy Mummy and Moses...
I kept my card very simple today, colouring Marcy in shades of blue and gold with my Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers. I used gold and blue pearlescent papers from my stash to create the layered background, and added blue and gold pearls to create a frame around my image and sentiment. Doesn't Marcy look awesome with Blue hair, I love her outfit too.
Yes you read correctly, The Spunky Spooks have Escaped from their secure facility and are now available at the Simply B Stamps Store, in rubber and digi form. I suggest you get over there quick and grab yours, as i've no idea how long they will stay. We've still got to do a couple of formal introductions and here's todays...
Is there a Full Moon tonight? If there is, you'll find Lucy Lycan and Lex having a wild old time in their beloved woodland home. Lucy is a bit of a mystery, as we don't know much about her family, we just know she seems to have an affinity with wolves, foxes and other canines! Don't ask her too many question tho, as she has a tendancy to bite when annoyed!!
Have you ever seen a Pink Lycan before? Well you have now, and I think she looks beautiful. I coloured Lucy and Lex with my Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers, with the addition of a little white gel pen for highlights. I decided to go for a Purple & Lime colour combo, along with my favourite pink. It's a little unusual but i think it works.
I added some purple and green ribbon to create a frame around my image, before adding buttons and pearls to the corners. I love layering buttons and pearls. To finish it all off I added a ticket sentiment from Whimsy Stamps.
Don't forget to come back tomorrow for another formal introduction to another of the Spunky Spooks. In the meantime, why not get your hands on the digis, and show us your favourite colour combos.
It's Wednesday again so time for another fun challenge at the Whimsy Stamps Challenge Blog. This week's challenge is nice and simple, we just want to see some 'Ribbon' on your card/project.
Here's my card....
For my card i chose to use one of the adorable new images from Crissy Armstrong, this gorgeous little lady is entitled 'Babe at the Beach'; I've coloured my image with Letraset Promarkers & Flexmarkers. My background papers come from the 'Family Ties' Paper Pad by First Editions, it's the first time i've used this paper, and it's really beautiful to work with. For my sentiment i used the Celebrations Mini Ticket Stamps along with the Mini Ticket Die. To create my ribbon detail, I used my crop a dile to punch a row of small holes, which i then threaded my ribbon through, before tying in a bow.
Having fun so far? Today we are traveling to the mysterious Highlands of Scotland to meet Lorna Loch and her friend Nessie. Yes your read correctly, Nessie, the Loch Ness monster does exist, and she loves to frolic around the Loch with her friend Lorna.
Welcome back to another spooky preview for Simply B Stamps. We are getting rather spooky today with the adorable Haunting Hannah and her friend Hoot. Hannah loves haunting, she was a hippy in her previous life, so has always been a bit of a free spirit; so being able to float through locked doors and walls is a great adventure for her. Haunting is not much fun on your own tho, so you'll find Hoot is always by Hannah's side to keep her company.
Today we are previewing the first of a new collection of images from Simply B Stamps by the very talented Alica Bell. They are called the 'Spunky Spooks' and as the name suggests they've got attitude as well as being a little on the spooky side.
Let me introduce you to Betty Bolts and Baxter. Betty is a doll, but she's not very bright, and is terribly accident prone; luckily her Dad is a mechanic and usually manages to put her back together with a few nuts and bolts. Her beloved Baxter is just as clumsy, so they make the perfect pair.
Betty Bolts and Baxter are coloured with Letraset Promarkers, I decided to give them a shiny silver look, to go with the whole metallic feel of the spanner and bolts. I used some leftover Echo Park Halloween paper along with some graduated green cardstock, and orange vellum. I kept my embellishments very simple, just creating a lace ribbon frame around the image.
Want to see more of Betty Bolts and Baxter, then hop over to the Simply B Stamps Blog to see what the rest of the DT have done with them. I'm sure you'll love all their creations, I know I do.
